DR WHO TIME-TRAVELLER PRIMARY SCHOOL PROJECT

On the last day of the Spring Term, the Year 5 classes went to MMU (Manchester Metropolitan University) for a day of
workshops organised by the students. We had completed our Time Traveller topic and the students had organised activities
for us. We started in the lecture theatre and then split into groups to go forward and backwards in time. Doctor Who and his
companion wanted us to create a futuristic object which had to be made from Lego and then present their ideas to everyone
else. Travelling back in time we went to Ancient Greece and found out about pottery and the different Gods and Goddesses
they had. Finally we travelled to the 60s to find out about the Beatles and the music from that era. We had to solve clues to
find the missing Beatle and learn parts of a dance routine. All the children had fantastic day and the students said what a
pleasure (although nerve-wracking) it had been to work with them.

Keep up with the daily

goings-on in school!

BROAD OAK CARES GROUP

Our support group for parents of children who have additional
learning needs or need extra help in order to succeed in school
will be meeting on Tuesday 3rd May at 9.00am in the community
room. Unfortunately, we have been unable to meet for a while
due to staff absences so it would be nice to meet up again and
have a coffee and catch up, and share ideas for the future running
of the group. All welcome.

Places still available.

DIDSBURY COMMUNITY
CHURCH VOLUNTEERS
On Saturday 16th April a group of volunteers from DCC
came to school to undertake two tasks to improve our
school. The first group re-cycled the tyres that were used
by Y4 for the 'Gigantagut' in the Autumn term. The tyres
have been stacked in threes at various points around our
site, and are about to be turned into planters so that we
can brighten up our grounds. A second group helped out
in the Library. Thank you to all involved for their hard
work.
