TOPIC: CLOSE MOUTH, CLOSED HEAVENS
INTRODUCTION
Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, Be taken
up and thrown into the sea and . believes that what he
says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I
tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have
received it, and it will be yours. Mark 11:23 - 34
From these verse we can see that:
1. Our words and prayers are powerful
Jesus speaking on the potency of the Word said..the words
that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. John
6:63; Ezekiel 2:2
2. We can have whatever we say. Our mouth is the rudder
of our lives.
And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have
faith.
Matthew 21:22
Job 22:28 says [We] will decide on a matter, and it will be
established for ., and light will shine on your ways.
3. We direct our lives and create what we want through
the words of our mouth. Our destiny revolves around
the tongue.
Death and life [are] in the power of the tongue: and they
that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Proverbs 18:21
As it is written, I have made you the father of many
nationsin the presence of the God in whom he believed,
who gives life to the dead and calls into existence the things
that do not exist. Romans 4:17
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction
of things not seen. For by it the people of old received their
commendation. By faith we understand that the universe

was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was

not made out of things that are visible. Hebrews 11:1-3
4. Obstacles, challenges and other repressive forces
responds to Gods word in our mouth
Mark 11:23 says..whoever says to this mountain, Be
taken up and thrown into the sea and . believes that what
he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.
5. We determine the fate of our challenges by declaring
their end
Who are you, O great Mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall
become a plain. Zechariah 4:7
6. We will be deliver by the word of God that we speak
over our situation
For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words
you will be condemned. Matthew 12:37
7. We are to reverse unpleasant situations by declaring
the word of God
When men are cast down, then thou shall say, there is a
lifting up; and he shall save the humble person. Job 22:28
8. Your current challenge will continue to exist so long as
your mouth remains close. Better still, you heavens will
remain closed except you open your mouth
EXAMPLES
JABEZ
We know the story of Jabez, whose name actually means
nonsense in Hebrew. We know his situation remained the
same until he opened his mouth and cried out to God. 1
Chronicles 4:9-10
SAMSON
Samsons remained defeated and his life hopeless after
his fall until he opened his mouth and cried out to God.
Judges 16:28

JONAH
Jonah remained in the belly of the fish until he opened his
mouth and cried out to God. Jonah 2:1 9
JACOB
Israels name remained Jacob and his purpose remained
dormant until he opened his mouth and cried out to God
for a change. Genesis 32
In fact, we may argue that his prayer in Genesis 32:9
resulted into the visitation by the Angel in Genesis 32:

The encounter with the Angel would have been of no
consequence if he had not opened his mouth and
requested to be blessed by the Angel. Genesis 32:26
HANNAH
Hannah, the mother of Samuel would have remained barren
if she had not opened her mouth and called out to God. 1
Samuel 1 2
BLIND BARTIMAEUS
Blind Bartimaeus would have died blind if he did not open his
mouth and cry unto Jesus. Mark 10:46-52
SO WHAT IS YOUR SITUATION? WHAT IS YOUR NEED?
James 5:13 says .. Is anyone among you suffering? Then he
must pray.
Are you:
In Danger of DEATH???
Declare
I shall not die, but I shall live, and recount the deeds
of the Lord. Psalm 118:17
I shall go to the grave in full vigour
You will come to the grave in full vigor, Like the stacking
of grain in its season. Job 5:26
I shall fulfil the number of my days

But you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will
bless your bread and your water; and I will remove
sickness from your midst. 26"There shall be no one
miscarrying or barren in your land; I will fulfill the
number of your days. Exodus 23:25 26

I honor the Lord, I fear the Lord therefore my

days are prolonged
You shall walk in all the way which the LORD your God
has commanded you, that you may live and that it may
be well with you, and that you may prolong your days
in the land which you will possess. Deuteronomy 5:33
Are you SICK???
By his stripes I am healed. Isaiah 53:5;
Jesus bears upon him my sickness, my disease. Isaiah 53:4;
Matthew 8:17
Jesus has paid the price for my healing. Therefore, I am
healed, I am free.
Having FINANCIAL DIFFICULTIES????
The lords shall supply my needs according to his riches in
glory. Philippians 4:19
I will lack nothing good in mighty name of Jesus. Psalm
34:10 NIV
The Lord shall fill our mouth. Psalm 81:10
Having MARITAL PROBLEMS???
Declare:
Me and my spouse are inseparable because we are
one flesh
and [Jesus] said, Therefore a man shall leave his father
and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall
become one flesh?
Matthew 19:5
Me and my spouse are inseparable because no man
can separate what God has joined together
So they are no longer two, but one. No human being must
separate, then, what God has joined together. Matthew
19:6
Husbands say I receive power to my wife

 Wives say I received power to submit to my

husband
We received knowledge and wisdom to live peacefully
with each other
Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with [them] according to
knowledge, giving honour unto the wife. 1 Peter 3:7
In need of DIRECTION???
Declare:
My steps are ordered by God
The steps of a [good] man are ordered by the LORD: and
he delighteth in his way. Psalms 37:23
I am instructed and guided by God therefore I know
what to do
I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which
thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

The word of the Lord is a light unto my path therefore
my path shines ever brighter
Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.

But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn,
which shines brighter and brighter until full day. Proverbs

I am taught by the Spirit of God, I am led by God
therefore I can never fail
I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you
should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you. Do not
be as the horse or as the mule which have no
understanding, Whose trappings include bit and bridle to
hold them in check, Otherwise they will not come near to
you. Psalm 32:8-9
Are you BARREN???
Declare:
I shall be fruitful, I shall multiple
I shall not miscarriage, neither will I be barren
But you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will
bless your bread and your water ..there shall be no

one miscarrying or barren in your land Exodus 23:25

Other impossible situations
I can do all thing through Christ who strengthens me.

All things are working for my good. Romans 8:28
Nothing is impossible for my God. Matthew 19:26
FINAL POINTS
There too many people living under closed heavens
There are too many destinies heading for the grave!
Listen, there is no pride in allowing your destiny to go to the
grave as intact as it was assigned to you from heaven!
Take possession of it now with your mouth.
Command a release of your destiny
Command the things that have been failing in your life to
begin to work
Command everything that has gone wrong in your life to
return to its original position
Command a restoration of your business, life, marriage or
career!
God said in Numbers 14: 28 I will do to you the very
thing I heard you say
DECLARATION
Today, I shall have everything I declare.
Today, I shall be satisfied with the fruits of my mouth.

return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I

PRAYER:
NATION
1. Father, turn the economic situation of Nigeria around
2. Father, restore the glory of our country, Nigeria
3. Father, grant our leaders uncommon wisdom to make our
country great
4. Father, let our country begin to prosper
Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble; He delivered
them out of their distresses. Psalm 107:6
CHURCH
And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a large number
who believed turned to the Lord. Acts 11:21
.I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not
prevail against it. Matthew 16:18
1. Father, let your glory and power be evident in your church
2. Father, remove every hindrance to the spreading of your
word
3. Farther, build your church
4. Father, equip your church and enlarge our territory
5. Father, send us helpers of destiny
Acts 2:47 - Praising God, and having favour with all the
people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as
should be saved.
