Senior Mechanical Engineer/Designer

Lambton Conveyor Limited is a leading manufacturer of grain handling and storage equipment. We are
currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer/Designer at our Wallaceburg, Ontario location. The
successful candidate will assist in the development of component selection, design and drawing
specifications and suggesting new alternatives for our products.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Senior Mechanical Engineer/Designer will be responsible for
the day-to-day activities related to product design and corrective/preventive action of non-conformances.
Responsibilities for this position include:
Strong mechanical design background with creative capabilities
Component selection, design, drawing and BOM for products
Performing calculation analysis using theory of machines, vibration and strength of material for
quick evaluation of design
Develop products by studying customer requirements, exploring the different options and
checking for manufacturing and assembly
Collaborate with Engineering Services and production to ensure manufacturing of newly
designed parts and assemblies
Create specific work instructions
Maintain the product in the database according to standards
Interact with external resources (vendors/customers) to resolve technical issues
Qualifications:

P. Eng is preferred but Master or Bachelor Degree with 3-5 years experience in mechanical
design is required
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) is a must
Working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Vault, AutoCAD software or equivalent
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional team building and conflict resolution abilities
Experience in problem solving and lean manufacturing concepts
Willingness to develop and learn new approaches, tools and techniques
Strong mechanical aptitude, especially in sheet metal fabrication
