During her first week of her internship, she participated in a tour of the
ministry and was introduced to various personnel. Following a detailed
orientation to the ministrys internship program, she received special project
assignment and then began to experience the Information and Communications
Technology unit.
The second week of her internship she was involved in a troubleshooting
assignment within the ministry. She spent most of the week trying to
understand the ministrys Local Area Network (LAN) traffic. Officer Ibrahim
showed her the proper way to do installation of various operating system,
hardware maintenance, software installation and respond to staff from our
helpdesk.
The third week, she observed the business process of our account department
with the use of the Integrated Financial Management Information System
(IFMIS).
On her final week, she was assigned to monitor the various network nodes
within MWHI. She was giving an overview to know when devices are offline and
when they are online. She spent most of those days monitoring staff who are
misusing our network bandwidth.
In summary, her internship was spent becoming familiar with the ICT unit and
the department. Since my report is based on a period of one month, Isha
Belmoh will need more working experience to fully understand IFMIS as this is
her career path.
We look forward to continue our relationship with staff and students of Njala
University.
