school): Interviewed a current assistant principal about the county and schools interview and hiring
process.

Actions: What did you do-be specific and be sure to align the actions to the
wording of the prompt: I interviewed a current assistant principal about the interviewing and hiring
process on Fulton County and at Riverwood International Charter School. I also researched board policy
on the legalities of the interview process and what steps are taken to select the appropriate candidate for
the job opening.

Results: how do your actions affect your effectiveness or student


learning/outcomes: The interview allows me to get a better understanding of the hiring process in in
the county and the school. I was able to discover that the school takes the right precautions with the
interview questions to make sure they are legal. The school and county have a checks a balance system to
assure the right candidate is successfully hired.

school): Gathered information on school and county policies. This is important because as an
administrator you need to know the different policies that staff and students need to follow and how to
discipline and administer those policies

Actions: What did you do-be specific and be sure to align the actions to the
wording of the prompt: Researched two different school districts dress code policy. Interviewed
two administrators to gather information about the policies and how effect they are.

Results: how do your actions affect your effectiveness or student


learning/outcomes: The information gathered through research and the interview showed that dress
code policies are aligned equally through all districts in the state of Georgia. Learning that the dress code
policy is hard to manage and is the least important policy in the schools allowed me to learn how to
manage my time as an administrator as well as where I need to put most of my focus towards when
becoming and administrator.

situation occurs.

wording of the prompt: Researched Georgia States Code of Ethics and Discipline Procedures.
Results: how do your actions affect your effectiveness or student
learning/outcomes: Gaining a better understand of what is considered unethical allows one to
become a better employee. It allows an employee to take proper steps and precautions as to not be
accused of unethical behavior. In the event that an employee is accused of unethical behavior, knowing
the discipline process, the actions of the board and the rights of the employee will help them fight the
claims in an effective manner.
