Cause of Death: Drowning

Manner: Accidental

York County Coroner, Pamela L. Gay, has released the following information:
*The decedent, a 16 yo female, Siobhan Sutherland, died today, 7/6/16 at 9:40 a.m. at York Hospital
after being found unresponsive in a pool at her home on Tuesday evening, 7/5/16, at approx. 8:03 p.m.
*At some point last evening, Sutherland wandered off to the pool area without her family's knowledge.
*A family member found Sutherland unresponsive in the pool.
*Sutherland received emergency medical care at the scene and was transported to WellSpan York
Hospital after being found unesponsive in the pool.
*In spite of the medical team's best efforts, Sutherland's condition deteriorated, and she was pronounced
dead at 9:40 a.m. today, Wednesday, 7/6/16.
*Chief Deputy Coroner Claude Stabley responded to Wellspan York Hospital this morning and certified
the death.
*Pennsylvania State Police is the investigating police jurisdiction.
*There was no autopsy. Cause and manner of death as above.
*Next of kin has been notified.
