For two weeks in May of 2016, student Benjamin Hubatchek took a trip
through the country of Thailand in order to experience and explore and
entirely different culture and location. On route he also stopped briefly in the
country of China. All of this was done as a part of SUUs EDGE program,
promoting global engagement.
The EDGE program through SUUs global engagement center pushes
students to go out and experience the world. Through this program, he
traveled to a completely different location and culture than our own. He
stopped in Bangkok, a bustling city in the southern portions of Thailand.
Additionally, his travels took him cross country, up to the northern city of
Chiang Mai.
During this trip, he saw and learned much about the culture and
customs of Thailand. In addition, he spent time with people from Belgium,
South Africa, Canada, Switzerland, Spain, Germany, and Austria. Thailand is
a melting pot of people from all over the world. He stated that it was an eye
opening and mind changing experience. ###
