Dear Parents,
I am so excited to have your child in my classroom for this
school year! My goal is to create a classroom environment
that encourages students to learn and grow. Im always
available if you have any questions. You can stop by my

this newsletter, Ive included some of what we will be
working on throughout the year!
Gamification
Starting this month, I will be using a new method of learning for the classroom. It is called
gamification, a new idea that has been proven effective for students. So, what exactly is
gamification? Gamification is
the method of using games and
rewards in the classroom to
encourage students to learn.
Many children love to play
online games, so incorporating
them into the classroom is a
great way to keep the students
attention. They can practice
their lessons through games,
giving them more confidence
in their abilities. The games will
cover the core curriculum of
what is being taught in the
classroom.

reward them with badges as they complete games and master content areas. Rewarding
badges creates a leaderboard in the classroom, which motivates the students to complete
lessons.

More Important News

Students will continue to follow the same homework and test schedule as they have for the first
few weeks of school.
Nightly homework will consist of studying spelling words, reading weekly story, and completing
his/her math worksheet. Please encourage and work with your child on homework! Tests over
spelling and the weekly story in their reading book will take place on Friday.
