7. Mibilia personam sequuntur, immobilia situm. Movable things follow the person, immovable
their locality.
8. Non obligat lex nisi promulgata. A law is not obligatory unless it be promulgated.
9. Acta exteriora indicant interiora secreta. External actions show the secret intentions.
10. Atore non probante reus absolvitur- the defendant is absolved if the plaintiff does not prove his case
11. Cessante ratione legis, cessat ipse lex- the reason of the law ceasing, the law itself ceases.
12. Consuetudo loci est observanda. The custom of a place is to be observed.
13. Debet quis juri subjacere, ubi delinquit. Everyone should be subject to the law of the place where he
commits an offense.
14. Fatetur facinus qui judicium fugit. He who flees judgment confesses his guilt.
15. Fraus auotoris non nocet successori. The fraud of the ancestor does not harm his successor.
16. In pari causa possessor potior haberi debet. In an equal cause, the possessor has the advantage.
17. Judex est lex loquens. The judge is the law speaking.
18. Lex semper dabit remedium. Law will always give a remedy.
19. Neminem cum alterius detrimento et injuria fieri locupletiorum. No one can be made richer to the
detriment and injury of another.
20. Nemo dat qui non habet. No one gives who does not possess.
