Sarah Bremseth, the second child and eldest daughter of Beret and Arndt Bremseth was born

May 13, 1880 in Trondheim, Norway. She was baptized in the Hegra Church. Sarah came to
America with her mother and older brother John. Her father, Arndt, had come to America a few
years earlier to establish a home for them. She grew up around the Lenora, Mabel area in
Minnesota.
Sarah married Jens Midje and together they farmed in the rural community of Skyberg near
Kenyon, Minnesota. They left the farm and moved to Prairie Farm, Wisconsin where they
operated a small grocery store. From Prairie Farm, they moved to Glenwood, Wisconsin where
they raised their family of four daughters and an adopted son named Hjalmer.
Sarah loved to crochet and do all kinds of fancy work. She sewed many dresses for her
daughters. She was a hard working woman who liked gardening and was always ready to help
her neighbors, especially when a new baby arrived in the neighborhood. She would then, pack
up some food and go help the new mother.
Sarah died of pneumonia February 24, 1925 and is buried in a church cemetery in Glenwood,
Wisconsin along-side her husband, Jens.
