VOID AS AN INGREDIENT IN ARCHITECTURE

AIM:
- The main objective is to understand what is solid
and void in architecture
OBJECTIVE:
- To study the ways that solid defined in our
environment
- To study how the void matters in animating
solid/mass into a structure
- To understand how void/nothing is something in
space
- To study how void acts as a basic element for form,
function and perception

ROUGH METHODOLOGY:
STAGE 1:
Understanding the concept of solid and void , evolution of solid and void
from prehistoric till present with some literature study
STAGE 2:
Types of void,effects of void on form,function and perception with
literature study and case study
STAGE 3:
Solid and void in urban spaces
STAGE 4:
Result of interior space with different size and shapes of void in a
structure with light and air, conclusion.

RESEARCH QUESTIONS:
How does the void affect the perception of space both in
building and urban space
Does the void be only exist with light?
