SUCCESS IN SCHOOL
Success or failure in school is largely determined by attitude. High intelligence without desire
and hard work will eventually produce failure. However, anyone with a positive attitude can
ultimately succeed.
Students demonstrate a positive attitude by staying focused on learning. They are rarely absent
or tardy. Their work is done thoughtfully, neatly, and on time. They pay attention in class. Their
talk is related to learning, and they are not distracted by foolishness. They wisely use spare
time for study. Such students have high standards for themselves. They take full responsibility
for their own education and never make excuses. Students with these attitudes are guaranteed
the reward of excellence.

TECHNOLOGY IN THE CLASSROOM

We will use computers often in the classroom. It is IMPERATIVE that you follow
all rules and procedures for using the computers. Any abuse to the computers or
inappropriate usage will have consequences.
PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOUR COMPUTER IS CHARGED DAILY. It is
important that you come to school with your computer fully charged. Classrooms have limited
power outlets and it disruptes the environment when you need to plug in your computer during
class.

ATTENDANCE
Attendance is very important. Absences and being late will hinder your learning process and
your success in passing this class.
Absences and make-ups are the responsibility of the student. It is your responsibility to request
the make-up work. The make-up policy is as follows:
Excused Absence- 3 days to turn in
Unexcused Absence- 1 day to turn in
Suspension- Students will have 1 day to make up work for each day that they are
suspended from class.
Students must request missed work the same day they return or they will not be allowed
to make-up the work. It is your responsibility to schedule a time with me to make up a
quiz or test.

GRADING
All assignments will be graded by point values, not letter grades. Points will be accumulated
during the week and final grades will be based on the total of points earned during the course.
A printout will be posted randomly in class, listing the current point totals of each student. The
grading scale will be as follows:

A=89.5%+

B=79.5-89.4%

C=69.5-79.4%

D=59.5-69.4%

F=below 59.5%

Consequences
