Turbine history:
The turbine was erected in 2012.Turbine has not been commissioned/taken in to service
since the erection. We have taken a trial run without following facilities. Turbine solo run
taken and found OK. Coupled run with gear box & generator [without load] taken. It has
been found that, up to 4100 RPM the governor is responding. Beyond 4200 RPM the
governor is not responding and the speed is raising over and above the set 4200 RPM.
The following are the observations.
1. Main shut off valve is not there. The connecting flange is dummied.
2. The present governor in line is not taking control(pneumatic actuator)
3. Vibration probe is not there. Unable to monitoring and to give very high vibration
trip.

4. Lube oil low alarm and lube oil trip is not there.
5. Over speed trip mechanism is not there.
6. There is no document evidence for critical speed and minimum governor speed.
Job scope:
A new shut off valve to make and provide.
Governor system to be corrected
Overspeed trip, low LO alarm/ trip, High vibration alarm/trip to be provided.
After providing all these turbine to be run and to be loaded.
