Ethical Dilemma - False Job Application

Jennifer should be fired as she has breached the formal law of the company. The employer has
the right to correct information. However, Jennifer has misrepresented the information about her
college degree where she was legally and ethically bound to provide the right information as
having a college degree was one of the chief pre requisites for the job. Although Jennifer is doing
a good job but lying about her degree might have prevented the company from hiring another
true deserving talented college degree holder. Besides, she could have informed the employer
that she is working towards completing her degree and is only nine credits short. Even then, if
the employer believed in her ability, he might have given her the job. Moreover, she has been in
line for promotion and if she is not penalized for her act, it will demoralize the other employees.
It will also encourage fellow colleagues to use forge means for advancement in the future.
