Project Implementation

During our ocular visit, I have noticed that the place was not so
clean, the garbage were not properly disposed and as what Ive seen the residents
including the elder and children were not practicing the right and gentle care for
their hygiene. In my observation, we must guide them in the way that they will have
sufficient information and facts about the things that they should do and not, and
before that the cleanliness should start first within themselves.
We have decided to have a seminar for children focusing on the
waste management, proper waste disposal, and about oral hygiene for them to be
informed about the proper practice of sanitation and cleanliness. We think a plan
that this seminar will not be boring so we decided to have games. At the first part,
the waste management and proper waste disposal were introduced and oriented,
we informed the children on how to be responsible with their trashes and whats the
proper way to disposed it in the proper place. The next topic on the seminar is
about oral hygiene in where weve taught them what to do and the correct caring
for their hygiene and specifically weve taught them the procedures how to brush
their teeth. After the discussion, we are asking some questions to state its
importance and by that we are able to know that they are listening and absorbing
what we want them to infer. We also prepared games like pinoy henyo and the
words are related in cleanliness and also weve prepared a game related to the
classification of biodegradable and non-biodegradable and as what I observe, the
children were all active and I can see in their eyes that they all want to learn.
My findings on our activities is that all children participated,
whenever we asked questions, they easily respond and answer it correctly and there
are some situation that even they dont get the correct answer, they still have that
impression that they will store it in their mind. And with the educational games,
they all enjoy it and cooperated with us.
As what I saw in their reactions, Im glad that they all learned
from us because when we asked them of what they remember on what weve
tackled, they all responded and they reflected it in the reality. We gave them all
toothbrush, while distributing it they are all happy and they said that they will apply
all the learning that weve imparted. Im hoping that all the knowledge that weve
shared will last in their minds and hearts and by that, they will have the learning
that they can share to their friends and even to their parents and I am also hoping
that someday when I visit their barangay, they are the one who lead in making their
community very vibrant.
