Word Work:

R1: Cut and Sort: Students will cut and sort their words with a pattern in their word
work spirals.

R2: Word Search: On the same page and in COLORED PENCIL, students will grab
a book and search for similar words that match their patterns and write them down.

R3: Boggle: Students will build their spelling words.


Writing:

Students will write their How-To Make Smores

MUST HAVE:
Hook/attention grabber start, correctly list the steps of making Smores, and a
closing.


Punctuation and capitalization must be correct.

Listening:
R1-3: Students under the level 10 on Lexia will do Lexia the entire time of the rotation.
ELL learners regardless of level on Lexia will do Lexia the whole time. Students above
level 10 on Lexia have to take one AR quiz then may listen to a book on tape.



6. Accommodations, Modifications and Differentiations for Diverse Learners:
Accommodations: The anchor charts and videos will provide my different learners the
same learning outcomes.
Modifications: Any modifications that are outlined in a students IEP plan will take place.
There are no students who require this at this time.
Differentiations: Weekly word study and reading groups are differentiated to meet the
needs of each of my students.

7. Assessment and Evaluation of Learning:


a. Formative: Formative assessment for this week will be based on teacher observation
and their work for math. A lot of the math work I will be checking, to check for their
knowledge.
b. Summative: The summative assessment for this week will be the students final copy
of their How-To Make Smores writing


8. Homework Assignment: Students will be given their weekly homework packet including a
homework grid of what is expected of students. Students will need to complete their weekly
requirement of Lexia (differentiated), practice reading an AR book with a parent to take a test
in class (students must read the book 4 times before taking a test), multiple writing samples,
word study activities (differentiated), practicing adding inflectional endings and a Math review
spiral. The homework is due in class on Friday.

Monday July 11, 2016 Schedule
9:00-
The bell rings at 9:00. I will walk out with my mentor to meet the students on the dot by our

portable. I will lead the students into the classroom where they will unpack and take out their
J.U.N.G.L.E binders. Students will open to their communication log. Announcements will start
and we will say the pledge as a school. While the announcements are on I will walk around
and look at the communication log. If there are no new comments I will close their binders.
Students are encouraged to listen to announcements.

I will call students to the carpet. I will give students 5 minutes to share something good with
the class before we begin. I will follow the Heggerty yellow primary phonics book for Week 31
Monday. Students will be asked to provide rhyming words, blend phonemes, segment

Read aloud will be The Magic School Bus Takes a Moonwalk Joanna Cole. We will talk about
feelings and emotions in the book. The concentration for this read aloud will be a review.

the emotion that author is trying to make the reader feel.

walk them out to recess and dismiss them. Lunch is over at 12:20. We will pick the students up
at the dot at this time.

Student lead calendar. I will pick a student using sticks. The student will lead calendar. They
will add the date and go over the days of the week (yesterday was, today is and tomorrow will
be). The student will then pick a number of the day. Student will ask class what is 1 more, 1
less, 10 more and 10 less of that number. Students will then count to 120 by 1s, 5s, 10s, or
20s.

Students will be given different sized popsicle sticks and will be allowed to explore for 5
minutes. I will observe what students make. We will have a discussion and have a gallery
walk where students will leave their creations on their desks and the class will walk around to
look at them. We will talk about open and closed shapes. I will ask students to create shapes
with only three sides. No other direction will be given. I will walk around and observe.
Students will gallery walk for all the different three sided shapes. I will start an anchor chart
that will go over that ALL three sided shapes have 3 sides, 3 vertices (corners), 3 angles.
Repeat this for four sided shapes and five sided shapes. I will talk about defining v. non-
defining (color, size). I will give students a worksheet that will show their understanding on
defining attributes.

Students will put away their math belongings and take out binders for dismissal routine after
specials. I will call quiet table groups (orange, red, blue, green) to line up at the door. I will
walk students to the bathroom then specials for the day.
I will pick up the students at 3:10 and walk them back to class where they will immediately
pack up and get ready to leave for the day.
Dismissal:
I will have students put away what they were working on and have students pull out their
behavior charts from their J.U.N.G.L.E binders. Start student, teacher helper and sub will walk
around and fill in the behavior chart for each student. Students will then pack all their
belongings and I will have students who ride the bus line up first. Then everyone else will line
up and together we will walk to the dot where students will give me a high 5 when they see
their parents.

understanding all the defining attributes of shapes (sides, vertices, angles).

defining attributes. I will introduce the students the game scoot where they will be asked
different questions to identify 3-d shapes.

their 3-d shapes on the back of the paper and see what 2-d shapes they get.
