larger part of the world. There has been record growth of Microfinance organizations in this
country over the past two and a half decades.
This study aims at assessing how the social issues turn to social and economic development in
Bangladesh with the help of the Microfinance programs and institutions. A questionnaire and

and used in the ways of regression analysis.
The preliminary results of the research show that the microfinance programs conducted by the
NGO-MFIs are successful and help the poor to resolve their social and economic issues to ensure
overall development.
All development programs should be made balance from a different social & economic
perspective. Besides, employment oriented training programs, literacy program to people,
effective network among the various MFIs groups, different (gender, education & employment
etc) balanced approach in programs and policies should also be introduced to the poor people in
order to boost up their economic product ability and achieving sustainable social and economic
