Our presentation exhibits a series of questions and answers from our

personal interview with a specific family from our designated community. The
Saan Family came from Brgy. 175 Camarin, Caloocan and is under of a
certain program in their respective health center, have somehow agreed to
participate to our interview.

With a nuclear type of family that is composed of 6 members, the Saan

household is headed by
Mr. Lino Saan whom we have limited information of
because of his refusal to the interview, is a pedicab driver who mostly works at
night and has an income of 700 pesos per week which varies on the total of
passengers. He is also responsible for the familys decision making regarding to its
financial aspect while Mrs. Santina Saan, wife of Kuya Lino, is a 28-year-old
woman who sometimes works as a barbecue vendor receives an income of 300
pesos per week. Having diagnosed with a Category I of Tuberculosis, she is now an
active community member of the health center specifically under the National
Tuberculosis Program (NTP) along with her other children. According to her, she is
the one who considers and make decisions regarding the familys health and
wellness. She leaves her children at home to work in the afternoon putting his son,
Samuel in charge of his siblings. Samuel James Saan on the other hand, is an 8year-old boy, a Grade 3 student of Camarin Elementary School and is also the eldest
among Ate Santinas kids followed by her other younger children, Lianne Lelouche
Saan a 5-year-old girl, Lino Saan Jr. who is 3 years old and lastly, Limuel Saan, 1
year old.

With their little total of income, they try to fulfill their needs at home and for
Samuels education which apparently is not enough. Having a patrilocal residence,
the family lives right above the house of Kuya Linos mother who helps them in
some way to lessen their insufficiency through sharing with them their comfort
room and electric supply. Source of water supply comes from a water pump or
poso shared with their neighbors which is serves as their water for drinking and
for cleaning purposes. Their living space is basically inadequate evidently as shown
and mentioned before that they have no comfort room of their own, their kitchen is
right outside their door and their living room also serves as their bedroom with a
dirty wooden floor. We also noticed improper clothing to Ate Santinas children as
evidenced by their barefooted walking in the streets with no shirt or even a short to
cover their body.
