NOTES FROM TEACHER:

Welcome new students and parents to the 5th
grade! Mr. Mitchell, Mr. Quintero, Mr. Hutchins and Ms.
Barnhart will use these bi-weekly newsletters to
inform you of important events, projects, and
assignments that we will have throughout the school
year.
We are all looking forward to working with your
families over the next nine months, and cant wait to
see how much growth your students make.

Field Trip
Volunteers!
We will be taking a few field
trips this year, and require
parent volunteers. If you are
interested in attending one of
these field trips you should
see Cathy Garcia at the front
desk to make sure that they
have your fingerprints on file.
It takes 9 weeks to verify, so
get them done now!!

SUBJECTS:
Math- We will begin with working on multiplying multi-digit
numbers.

CALENDAR:

$1 DRESS DOWN EVERY

FRIDAY
Reading- We are looking at cause and effect relationships between
characters, events, and situations.
Social Studies- We will begin by learning about the 50 states, and
capitals.
Science- We will begin by practicing finding information in
informative text.
Writing- We will begin by working on parts of speech, and
figurative language.
