Europes Scientific Revolution.
Obsessed with the formation of the universe, primarily planetary
motion.
Believer of the Heliocentric Theory
Wrote a book entitled Mysterium Cosmographicum (The Mystery of
the Universe)
Also famous for his Three Prime Theories on Planetary Motion
1st Law: The orbit of the planet about the Sun is an ellipse with the
Suns center of mass at one focus.
2nd Law: A line joining a planet and the Sun sweeps out equal areas in
equal intervals of time.
3rd Law: The squares of the periods of the planets are proportional to
the cubes of their semi-major axes.
Also credited for the idea of how tides are affected by the moon.

First to use the telescope to study the heavens systematically.
Galileo observed 4 points of light that changed their positions with
time around the planet Jupiter. He concluded that these were the
moons of Jupiter
