1- What does a Muslim do before praying?


Before praying, a Muslim washes the exposed parts of his/her
bodies. That is, he/she performs Wudu.

2- How many times does a Muslim pray in one day?


A Muslim prays five times in one day.

3- Which prayer is the first prayer of the day?


The first prayer of the day is the Fajr prayer.

4- Which prayers are obligatory?


The obligatory prayers are the Fajr (the dawn prayer), Dhur (the
early afternoon prayer), Asr (the late afternoon prayer), Maghrib
(the evening prayer), and Isha (the night prayer).
5- Which prayers are partly optional (which are not fard)?
The additional or Sunnah prayers are partly optional.

6- Which prayers are those that express a persons wishes?


The prayers that express a persons wishes are the personal

prayers or Supplication (Dua).


7- What should Muslims do when they are present at the
time of the prayer and they are more than one?
Muslims should form a congregation and pray together when
they are present at the time of the prayer and they are more than
one.

8- In which direction do Muslims pray?


Muslims pray in the direction of Kabah.

9- Is the Friday prayer obligatory? Elaborte.


The Friday prayer is obligatory only for Muslim men, but not for
women. Juma prayer consists of two rakats, substituting for the
four rakats of Dhur, and preceded by a sermon. It is observed at
Dhur time on Friday, always in congregation.

10- How do the Eid prayers differ from the Friday prayer?
In the Eid prayers, there is no call to prayer (adhan) or summons
(iqamah).
