C F S D Governing Board Meeting

Annual Review of CFSD Policy CBA Qualifications


and Duties of Superintendent
The governing board conducted its annual review
related to the superintendents qualifications and
position responsibilities. The board recommended
some minor language updates to the policy under
Leadership. The board also requested a rewrite of the
items in the section on Public Relations. This policy
will be brought back to the board at their next meeting.

Superintendent Mary Kamerzell shared the following


student achievements.
Catalina Foothills High School (CFHS)
The Arizona Daily Star named its All-Stars for the
Spring 2015-2016 sports season. The following CFHS
athletes were among the honorees:
Girls Softball
Player of the Year and First Team Nic Conway
Honorable Mention Micayla Brooke, Marisa Garcia,
Zoe Garcia, Kathryn Lucio, Natalie Stevens, and Lilli
Wright.
Baseball
Honorable Mention - Gilbert Aguilar, Sam Alberts, Troy
Gutbub, and Chandler Thomas.
Boys Volleyball
Honorable Mention - Michael Benedict.
Girls Track and Field
Honorable Mention - Megan Guttierez, Zoe Johnson,
Richelle Sandin, Katie Watson, Taylor Young.

Annual Review of CFSD Policy CBI Evaluation of


Superintendent (first reading)
The governing board conducted its annual review its
policy related to the evaluation process of the
superintendent. There were no recommended revisions
to the policy. This policy will be brought back to the
board at their next meeting.
Superintendents Proposed Performance Goals for
2016-2017 (first reading)
Dr. Kamerzell presented the first reading of her
proposed performance goals for the 2016-2017
contract year. These goals are in addition to position
responsibilities identified in CFSD Policy CBA
Qualifications and Duties of Superintendent. The goals
are related to the following areas:
1. Envision21: Deep Learning CFSD Strategic Plan
2014-2020
2. Human Resources
3. Arizona College and Career Ready Standards
4. Technology
5. Community Relations

Honorable Mention - Phoenix Katz, Philippe Mortelliti,
Tayvien Williams-Walden.
Approval of Revisions to Policy IJND, Regulation
IJND-R and Exhibit IJND-E Movies/videos (second
reading)
Associate Superintendent Mary Jo Conery presented
the second reading of revisions to the policy, regulation
and exhibit. During the first reading on June 28, Dr.
Conery provided information on the proposed
additions, deletions, and/or revisions to update the
language and elaboration on the acceptable use of
movies and video content for instructional purposes.
Recommended revisions to regulation IJND-R limits
the ratings of movies and video content that can be
shown for instructional purpose. The board approved
the policy, regulation and exhibit as presented.

Board members provided feedback and recommended


additions/changes to the language in the area of
Community Relations. The superintendents goals will
be brought back to the board at their next meeting.
Selection of Delegate(s) to ASBA Delegate
Assembly
The governing board approved President Eileen
Jackson as its delegate, Ms. Amy Bhola as first
alternate, and Ms. Amy Krauss as second alternate to
the ASBA Delegate Assembly September 10, 2016.
