number for all OMU and MPU boards are generated
automatically. The OMU board number is 0. The MPU board in
frame 0 is numbered 1. The board numbers for other MPUs are
the same with the numbers of the frames where they are located,
ranging from 2 to 29. CMU boards are numbered from 30 to 61.
For a board in the 1+1
1 1 backup mode, its board type and number
must be the same with those of the board in the paired slot. For
example if an HRB board in the 1+1 backup mode is in slot 12
example,
12,
the board in slot 13 must also be HRB and the numbers. of the
two boards must be the same.

slots 6 and 9, slots 7 and 8, slots 10 and 11, slots 12 and 13 as
well as slot 14 and 15.

You do not need to specify the master board in the two boards
working in the 1+1 backup mode. When the system starts up, the
master is determined through the contention mechanism. Usually
the board that is started first is the master and the other one the
slave.

status can be:

Free running: Indicates that the CLK board outputs free running clock
generated by its crystal.

Fast tracking: Indicates that the CLK board is tracking reference source clock
fast and is an instantaneous status usually when the system just connects the
reference source.

Locked: Indicates that the CLK board has locked primary reference source and
outputs clock signals aligned with reference source.

Holdover: Indicates that the CLK board outputs clock signals based on the
locked status when reference source is missing.

Mc interface is a new interface determined in 3GPP R4,, which is a

standard interface between MSC Server (or GMSC Server) and MGW.

The Mc interface p
provides the capabilities
p
of the static and dynamic
y
resources for the MSC Server (GMSC Server) controlling the various
transmission modes (IP/ATM/TDM) in the MGW in the call processing
procedure, such as terminal property, terminal connection switching
relationship, MGW borne media streams.

The Mc interface also provides the call independent MGW status

maintenance and management capability.

Configuring TDM Time Slots (1)

Command: ADD TDMIU

This command is used to designate which VMGW the TID belongs

to as the UMG8900 supports VMGW functions and can allocate
TDM resources of one physical device to multiple VMGWs. It could
also designate the CMU that manages the TID.

An E32/T32 has 1024 physical time slots at most. Therefore, the

end TID minus the start TID must be less than 1024.

The start TID of a TDM interface board (E32/T32/S2L) must be an

integral multiple of 1024.

MSOFTX3000 support 16 local office information

tables( numbered 015).

The local office data index added for the first time is "0". SET OFI
is used for the first time to add local office data.

Currently, MSOFTX3000 supports multi-SP configuration at the

local office, so we could use the command ADD OFI to add SPs to
break the number limitation of 16 signaling links
links.

HLR is directly connected with MSC, they are adjacent network entity in
SS7 signaling network, so this adjacent flag is True.

destination of the link set. This index must be set in the former
table.

Add MTP Route:

Command: ADD N7RT.

An MTP3 route is the path through which signaling messages are

transmitted between two signaling points.

This command defines routes used by a link set.

The link set and DPC must be added in the two former tables.

configuration.

Link Set Index indicates that which link set the link is belong to.

SLC is a appointed value, it is a interface parameter, need to consult with

HLR configuration.

Choose 64k link, if need to use one E1 time slot as the signaling link.

Add IP Address:

Command: ADD IPADDR.

This command is used to configure the IP address of a specified

interface on a specified board. In this chapter it is used to
configure the IP address of SPF board
board.

It could be used to configure master, slave, and test IP addresses.

To configure multiple addresses for an IP interface, configure the

master IP address first before a slave IP address. otherwise,
configuring a slave IP address will fail
fail.

57

Page33

Add M3UA Local Entities:

Command: ADD M3LE.

An M3UA local entity corresponds to an originating signaling point

code (OPC) that is identified by network ID (NI) and OPC.

Local entity type specifies the application mode of the UMG8900 in

the M3UA link. For the two peer devices, if the entity type is
Application Server (AS) for one device,
device the entity type is SG for the
other.

Usually the entity type is set to SG for the UMG8900 and AS for
MGC.

Page34

Add M3UA Destination Entities:

Command: ADD M3DE.

An M3UA destination entity defines a destination signaling point

and is identified by NI and DPC.

Network Mode is valid only when the destination entity type is AS.
It specifies whether the peer AS engrosses or shares a signaling
point code with others
others.

58

Page35

Add M3UA Link Sets:

Command: ADD M3LKS.

A group of M3UA links between the local entity and adjacent

destination entity constitute a M3UA link set.

An M3UA link set describes the static features of all the M3UA
links from the local entity to an M3UA adjacent destination entity.

Copyright 2008 Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. All rights reserved.

Page36

Add M3UA Routes:

Command: ADD M3RT.

M3UA route is the path from the local entity to the destination
entity is called.

There can be multiple routes to a M3UA destination entity, but the

routes to the same M3UA destination entity must use different
M3UA link sets
sets.

Add M3UA Signaling Links:

Command: ADD M3LNK.

The link set up between the SGP and the ASP through SCTP is
called M3UA link.

Each end of an M3UA link can be either the SGP or the ASP
(IPSP is not applied in the UMG8900).

First IP address is a mandatory parameter, and if second address

is also specified, this configuration shall support the dual homing
function.
