“Alive After Ease”

(The scene starts and skips to show Vito, Mike, Andy, Sonia and Steve on the boat back on the Empath
societal island. As they are about to depart, Raphael goes to Vito and grabs his hand)
Raphael: A little present from me.
(Vito gives a strange look. Scene switches to Malus and Ryan watching television)
Malus: Hey, isn't that . .
Ryan: What is he doing?
(On the television screen is Amadeus)
Amadeus: Remember world, and remember well! Carve into your memories our name: We are the
Sovereigns!
(Scene shows people watching Snack glowing red)
Snack: What did you to me!?
(All of the sudden, a large glowing red spike-shaped substance extends from the red glowing outline of
Snack's arm. The blade pierces the ground and a tree as Snack drags his arm around. Snack continues
to rage out of control as more spikes seem to protrude from him.
Scene moves along and shows Ryan and Malus watching the television as they stand by a catatonic
Snack, who is lying in bed)

(Previously sequence over)

(From Snack's sight, he wakes up and looks around a new room: a small quaint hospital like room. He
is lying in a bed and on his right sits Sonia Bell)
Sonia: Oh you're awake!
Snack: Ugh, what's going on?
Sonia: The others are waiting for you!
Snack: Others? What do you mean? Where's Ryan?
Sonia: . . . I guess I should fill you in.
Snack: Fill me in on what?
Sonia: After your power surge . .
(Snack holds up his hand and is shocked when it outlines red and shoots out a small red blade and
seconds later, retracts itself)
Sonia: Yeah . . that.
Snack: I didn't know I could do that! I gotta thank Phearson for this!
Sonia: Calm down. I really need to fill you in on what happened.
Snack: What are you saying?
Sonia: A lot has happened over the past couple of months . .
Snack: Past couple of- what!?
Sonia: Just listen.
Snack: . .
Sonia: Like I said, a lot has happened . . .
(Scene transits to what can be assumed as the past. In a meeting room, Crimson Reaper sits at the
head of the table. Around the table sits Andy, Sonia, Blake, Will, Malus, Ryan, Phearson, Oneshot, and
Vito)
Crimson Reaper: How is Jonathan doing?
Malus: Still alive.
Phearson: The way it should go.
(Ryan gives Phearson a dirty look, who simply smiles in response)
Ryan: How can you let this freak do that to him? Do we even know what he did!?
Crimson Reaper: Have faith, Ryan. Things should always go according to plan. Besides, we have
greater troubles to deal with: these so called Sovereigns and the Empath invasion.
Andy: About the Empath invasion, there is something I forgot to mention. They have a secret weapon,
which gives them the confidence to take us on.
Crimson Reaper: Weapon? What kind of weapon?
Vito: It's a person. His name is Evan Weiss.
Crimson Reaper: What is so special about this man?
Andy: It sounds hard to believe, but he is known for his ability to alter reality.
(Malus and Phearson show astonished looks to each other. Phearson gets up out of his seat and walks
over to Vito and Andy)
Phearson: Reality bender, you say? Please, tell us more about him!
(Phearson puts his hands on the shoulders of Andy and Vito)
Andy: Uhm . . okay. Well, he is still a kid. A teenager, no less. His powers are still immature
according to Raphael Rosario, but-
(As Andy talks, Vito shows strange symptoms: he begins to sweat and feels headaches. Vito looks at
Phearson, who is listening to Andy)
(All of the sudden, the camera shakes as it zooms in from Vito to Phearson's head. Phearson realizes
something and then stares at Vito)
Phearson: . . are you trying to read my mind!?
(Phearson holds his arm up and turns it into a rather large shadowy sickle. He proceeds to slash at
Vito who blocks it with his bare hands. Vito then uses all his might, swings Phearson around, and
throws him. Phearson is thrown past Crimson Reaper and crashes through the wall behind him.
Crimson Reaper takes note of Vito's hands: they bled from Phearson's sickle, but they are now healed.
Everyone watches in amazement. Andy turns to Vito, who is also confused)
Oneshot: Master!
(Oneshot jumps up from his seat and runs over to help Phearson, who emerges from the hole in the
wall)
Phearson: I'm fine! (Cackles) I thought you were power-drained, rat! Perhaps your in cahoots with
that reality bending kid! He could give you all the powers you wanted!
(Meanwhile, Evan Weiss shouts in amazement as he checks the computer online game, Heroes Reality.
Steve and Raphael Rosario are there with him)
Evan: How did this happen?
Steve: What happened?
Evan: The Vito character has all these upgrades and powers! I guess he really stacked up back at the
mainland!
(Steven turns to his uncle, Raphael, who simply smiles)
(Back at the boardroom, Phearson turns both arms into shadow buzz saws and tries to slash at Vito,
who dodges them)
Phearson: Come on, come on, come on! Is that all you got, running rat!?
(Vito is cornered and is about to be slashed, but Andy comes along and kicks Phearson into the wall.
Oneshot gets up and points his finger at Andy and fires at him, but some rocks from the dry-stone wall
fly out and intercept the blast. Andy turns and nods to Sonia, who smirks back)
(Phearson gets up and laughs)
Phearson: Can't defend yourself? You gotta have some friends help you?
Vito: I saw what he wanted.
Phearson: Huh?
Crimson Reaper: What do you mean?
Vito: I saw his thoughts and intentions . . he wants to find Evan and take his powers for himself!
(Everyone looks at Phearson)
Phearson: (Scoffs) So you found me out . .
(All of the sudden, Crimson Reaper appears behind Phearson and attempts to hit him. Phearson jumps
away, but Crimson Reaper holds out what seems like a dark red vortex. The vortex pulls Phearson in;
Reaper grabs Phearson's face and smashes him to the table. He then picks him up again)
Crimson Reaper: I have no room for traitors.
(Crimson Reaper stabs at Phearson, who suddenly disperses into dark clouds. The clouds then fly
around Oneshot and then disappear. Everyone stands in silence)
Crimson Reaper: We won't be seeing him for a while.
Vito: Just what was he?
Malus: He's like the kid you talked about: a reality bender. Except he's a bit twisted in his abilities.
Blake: But now we're missing a member. The Army of Six just doesn't have the same ring.
Will: Well, Mr. Vondran, I'm sure we can get used to it-
Blake: Shut up, kid. Make him take that creep's place, so he doesn't have to shadow around me
anymore!
Sonia: Wait, why can't I be-
Andy: No.
Sonia: But Andy!
Andy: I said no.
(Sonia simply pouts. Andy looks at Vito)
Andy: What about Vito? He could replace Phearson easily.
Crimson Reaper: Without the proper training the partners have gone through in assignments, Vito will
not do. It is best to choose one of them instead.
Andy: So who do we choose?
Crimson Reaper: We are now left with four partners, since Phearson took Oneshot with him.
Ryan: Hey, Malus . .
Malus: Ah, that's right, what about Jon Snack?
Sonia: He's in comatose right now, isn't he?
Crimson Reaper: His abilities are prominently more powerful than the others.
Ryan: What about me-
Malus: His combative skills are a bit rusty, but he can make up for it once in action.
Ryan: I'm good at fighting!
Malus: He won't run like Phearson.
Crimson Reaper: Then it's settled. Jonathan is promoted to an Army of Seven effective immediately.
(Scene blurs out and goes back to the present where Sonia and Snack are walking around the court
yard)
Snack: Wait, so you're telling me I'm an Army of Seven?
Sonia: Yeah.
Snack: So I'm higher than you?
Sonia: Well, yeah.
Snack: I'm stronger than you?
Sonia: That's what they said.
Snack: I'm stronger than Ryan?
Sonia: Uh yeah, about him-
Snack: That's awesome! He's my underling! What was he like when he found out?
Sonia: . . he was pretty angry.
Snack: I bet he was! Where is he? Now that I'm awake I can rub it in his face!
Sonia: He's not here . .
Snack: Well, where is he?
Sonia: . . about that . .
(Scene flashes back to the board room where Ryan stands up to Crimson Reaper)
Ryan: Why didn't you pick me? Snack can't even move right now!
Crimson Reaper: He will be able to move again.
Ryan: I hope he does too, but right now, that position should be mine! I've always dreamed of being at
the top with my powers! I won't let him take that away from me!
Malus: Kid, it sounds like you hunger for the title rather than the life of your friend.
Ryan: I do care about Snack! He's my best friend, but . .
Crimson Reaper: Don't take it so harshly, Ryan. You can still prove yourself of use to help us against
the Empaths.
Ryan: So I'm just a tool now, is that it? Forget this.
(Ryan begins to leave)
Malus: Not a good idea, you leave, then consider you and your friend as enemies.
(Ryan stops. Then storms out of the room)
(Scene cuts forward back to Sonia and Snack who are both sitting on a stone bench)
Snack: So . . he's gone?
Sonia: Haven't seen him since.
Snack: . .
Sonia: Are you okay?
Snack: He should be happy for me.
Sonia: He probably is! Just didn't know how to show it.
Snack: Forget him. Next time I see him, I'll show him why I'm stronger than him.
Sonia: Er . . so yeah, Vito left to.
Snack: Where did he go?
Sonia: Andy and I meet up with him every now and then. They've gotten real close ever since we've
came back from the Empath island.
(Scene cuts and shows another flash back: Vito stands inside an empty room. It is the same room of the
small building he kept Jaelyn in before he left for the Empath Island. He then walks out and sees Andy
and Sonia)
3 Weeks Ago . . .
Andy: Yo.
Vito: Hey, what are you guys doing here?
Andy: Haven't really been signed any missions, so we decided to stalk you around.
Vito: (Sarcastically) Thanks! No, why are you really here?
Andy: We came to see how much you know about the Sovereigns.
Vito: I know some of the people in it . . I kept one of them here before I left for the island.
Sonia: Like imprisoned them? Isn't that barbaric?
Vito: It was for her own good . .
Andy: You're creeping me out, man.
Vito: She's a Sylar . . I kept her here to try and abstain her from the hunger . .
Sonia: Well, it didn't look like it worked . .
Andy: And she's part of the Sovereigns? Why?
Vito: I don't know.
Andy: Let's go find out, shall we?
(Scene jumps ahead to the Sovereigns base. Wesley is thrown and crashes into a table. Cronus walks
up with a killer intent but Jaelyn holds him still with telekinesis. Amadeus steps forward between
Cronus and Wesley)
Amadeus: What do you think you are doing?
Cronus: I'm tired of him! He's always been a coward, holding us back! All he's done for us was being
a ragdoll!
Jaelyn: Wesley helped with a lot of other things! He gives the building a lot of power so we don't have
to live in the dark. He's helped bond the community. What is your problem, Solomon?
(Cronus slips into his own shadow and jumps into Jaelyn's shadow, thus controlling her)
Cronus: I told you to call me Cronus!
(Cronus lets go of Jaelyn and walks towards Amadeus)
Amadeus: And what do you plan to do? Slaughter him for your selfish wants?
Cronus: Perhaps. What's it to you?
Amadeus: We need him as a component to Cataclysm.
Creator's Note: Yeah, Cataclysm is Amadeus's bizarre theory about finding other “god-like” figures
and abilities in order to access the full potential of Amadeus's power.
Cronus: If I take his power, I could use it more effectively than he ever could! I could fulfill his spot
and empower us even more!
Amadeus: . . .
Cronus: This is for all of us! His misuse of his powers screwed all of our lives! Think about it!
Amadeus: Revenge upon a brethren is unbecoming of a member of my flock.
Cronus: (Walks past Amadeus and puts his hand on Wesley's face) This isn't revenge; this is justice
long overdue.
2 Weeks Ago . . .
(Scene cuts to Evan, Nec, Skye, Steve, and Raphael. Raphael nods to Steve. Steve looks at Nec and
Skye, who both nod in response. They all look at Evan. They stand in some private court yard with
Raphael standing on the sidelines)
Raphael: Focus, Evan!
Evan: I-I don't think I'm ready!
Raphael: This is training! Don't worry, they won't really hurt you!
(Evan breathes in slowly and breathes out. He then gets ready. Steve starts off by teleporting around
the field. Every teleport brings him closer to Evan. Evan concentrates and holds out his hand at the
next spot Steve is about to teleport in. As soon as Steve teleports in, he teleports out into a bush. Nec
runs in spreading waves of fire at Evan. Evan dodges a couple and then stomps the ground; the
ground underneath Nec bursts into a column of water. Nec's fire is doused out and he is now wet. Nec
then sends a punch at Evan, which sends an air stream at him; this is Nec's version of Oneshot's ability
if one recalls)
(Evan dodges as objects shatter and explode behind him from Nec's blasts. Evan then warps his arm
into thin air. The arm appears behind Nec, taps him on the shoulder, and disappears. Nec turns
around, then turns around again to see Evan grab Nec's face and all of the sudden, Nec turns into a
dog. Nec keeps barking at Evan, but sees its own tail and attempts to chase after it)
Evan: Two down.
(Evan looks at Skye who simply stands there. Skye blinks and all of the sudden her eyes are orange)
(Evan's sight begins to disappear. Evan trips over things since he can't see)
Raphael: Come on, boy, concentrate! You need to be able to use your powers with hindrances!
(Evan breaths calmly. Then concentrates. All of the sudden, Skye's eyes revert back to their original
color and Evan gets up; vision restored)
Raphael: Brilliant! Well done, lad!
Skye: Did you just turn off my powers?
Evan: Not permanently.
Steve: Good job, Evan! Your powers have grown quite well under your control over the weeks.
(The dog comes up barking at Evan)
Evan: Oh sorry there, Nec!
(Evan snaps his finger and Nec the dog is restored as a human)
Nec: So now what?
Raphael: Evan's abilities have indeed increased in skill and control. That along with his creativity
allows him to be a formidable opponent. He is almost ready. Evan, go gather your things, time is
almost up.
(Evan nods and runs off)
Steve: So in a couple of weeks, we should be able to launch the invasion soon.
(Nec and Skye look at each other)
Nec: Uhm . . isn't that too soon?
Raphael: Nonsense. The sooner, the better! I know the two of you are not on our side. The two of
you have put your faith into Vito and Andy. That's admirable, but what if faith decides to place them
on our side? We'll the two of you follow then?
Skye: What makes you so sure that they will?
Raphael: It's their instinct! They will realize where they truly belong.
Nec: And what about us?
Raphael: What about you, indeed! Nec, have you ever considered that Vito may be the stronger
empath?
Nec: (Scoffs) As if! He's too nice to be stronger.
Raphael: How do you know? Being back at the mainland, he must be harvesting all these abilities to
himself.
Nec: What about that limiter of his?
Raphael: Doesn't stop him from trading his weaker abilities for stronger ones.
Nec: . . I never was the weaker one.
Raphael: And you don't have to be! We have archives of abilities that you can learn and obtain! But
you have to promise me that your on our side.
Nec: . .
(Nec simply smiles; Scene cuts to Vito, Andy, and Sonia standing in some deserted area. It looks like a
desert, but it is instead a sandy ruin)
Vito: You sure this is right?
Andy: Yup.
Sonia: So what are you going to do? If your friend joined with them, would she come back?
Vito: I hope so.
(Something is seen at high speed and then comes to a halt several feet away from Vito, Andy and Sonia.
It is Cronus, Jaelyn and Amadeus. Jaelyn stumbles a bit and then pulls herself together. She then is
shocked to see Vito)
Jaelyn: You!
Vito: Jaelyn!
Andy: That's her?
Vito: Yeah.
Sonia: Isn't that . . ?
Andy: The big boss of the Sovereigns, right?
Amadeus: Who may you all be?
Cronus: Just some gnats, blow them apart and let's go.
Andy: And where are you in such a hurry to?
Amadeus: We are in search for a very important person. Perhaps you've seen him?
Andy: Depends. What are you going to do with that person?
Amadeus: Nothing that pertains to you all.
Vito: Jaelyn! Why did you join these guys? Let's go back together!
Jaelyn: You locked me up in a shack, Vito. What makes you think I want to go back?
Cronus: She's right, Vito!
Vito: . .
Cronus: I know what you're thinking. You're trying to be a good person like you Empaths are
supposed to be! Those feelings are already intimate. I can sense them in the both of you, and it makes
me pretty sick.
Vito: . . and what if that's true?
Jaelyn: Huh?
Andy: I didn't know you meant that kind of friend.
Vito: I'm starting to realize it a bit . . why I'm trying so hard to help you. I convinced myself that it was
my Empathetic nature . . but I guess, I'm starting to like you, Jaelyn!
(Jaelyn shows a shocked and blushing reaction)
Jaelyn: S-stop deceiving yourself!
Vito: I'm not!
Cronus: Whatever is true won't matter. She's not coming back with you. You're too weak for her! If
you could beat me, then maybe!
(Vito gets in a ready stance; the sand around him slowly move away from him)
Vito: No matter what; no matter what Jaelyn, I'm going to take you back with me!
(Jaelyn is amazed as is everyone else at the amount of power Vito is surging)
Cronus: Why don't you bring out that Nec guy? He could help a lot!
Vito: He isn't here right now! Just you and me!
(Vito's eyes glow bright blue and Vito suddenly teleports. Cronus blinks and opens his eyes again just
to see Vito appear right in front of him with a fist about to hit his face. Cronus takes a full hit and goes
flying. As Cronus is still flying, he recovers but is too late to defend himself from Vito, who teleports
behind him and releases a wave of telekinesis that rebounds Cronus into the ground)
(Cronus then jumps up and begins to run at super speed around. He repeatedly runs around and hits
Vito. Vito then guards himself; Cronus charges him and rapidly punches him at a continuous rate.
Each punch slowly brings Vito up into the air; Vito then wards off the punches and slams at Cronus
into the ground. Sand flies everywhere as Cronus runs back)
(Cronus then charges up some RED LIGHTNING and fires at Vito. Vito then gathers up blue lightning
and returns fire at Cronus. The red and blue lightning clash and stay at a standstill. Cronus begins to
slide back as Vito pushes forward. Cronus spawns four clones from himself that all jump back behind
him. At the same time, they all charge up red lightning and blast Cronus. The clones all merge back
into Cronus. Cronus smiles as his eyes turn purple; the red lightning turns into purple lightning.
Cronus pulls back the lightning a bit and re-fires it. The purple lightning engulfs Vito's blue lightning.
Vito blocks the lightning with telekinesis but is gradual pushed back)
(He then sees Jaelyn looking at him worriedly. Vito then concentrates and jumps back. As the purple
lightning comes close to Vito, Vito's eyes glow bright blue once more. Vito shouts and a large sonic
blast emits from his scream. The sonic shout blows back the purple lightning at Cronus. The lightning
causes a large electrical explosion. After the smoke fades away, a slightly charred and fried Cronus
falls to the ground)
Vito: (Panting) I-I did it!
(Vito then looks at Jaelyn, who hesitates to smile back but does so anyway. Vito then collapses)
(Scene cuts back to Sonia and Snack)
Snack: And then what happened?
Sonia: Well, that's pretty much it. Things got quieter after that. Did I mention we got a person in the
Sovereigns?
Snack: . . . Vito joined the Sovereigns!?
Sonia: Jaelyn didn't want to leave them; she thought they might have a cure for the hunger . .
Snack: Who knows what the masked creep wants with them all?
Sonia: Well, Amadeus and the rest of the Sovereigns are important allies for the Empath invasion.
Snack: I don't know, I just don't-
(Will runs up to them)
Will: Mr. Snack, you must go! You'll be late!
Snack: Huh? What are you talking about?
Sonia: Oh! I'm sorry I kept you here, yeah you have to go!
(Will dials a number and talks in the phone. Snack asks Sonia what is going on)
(All of the sudden, a small red vortex appears by Snack. A hand appears out of it and grabs Snack and
pulls him in. Snack appears in a strange place, but the Crimson Reaper is there)
Snack: Oh hey, new boss, uhm what's going on?
Crimson Reaper: You must hurry!
Snack: Wait-what's going on!?
(Reaper pushes Snack through some curtains. Snack stumbles out and holds his balance. He is
blinded by many lights and turns to his right and left to see his fellow Army of Seven members)
Malus: What kept ya, newbie?
Blake: Don't let stardom get to your head, kid! That will piss me off!
Snack: W-what is this?
(Camera shows a man on stage with them on a podium)
Podium Man: We are proud to announce to the world our solution for peace among the evolved! We
present the Army of Seven!
(The crowd goes wild as they all shout out praises and questions with many camera flashes to follow.
Snack looks at the huge audience. He looks at the cameramen and realizes he is on television. He
simply smiles and waves to the crowd)
(Scene switches to the Sovereigns base; Amadeus sits as many others crowd around to look at the
television. Vito and Jaelyn watch together and a healed up Cronus smiles as he watches the television)
(Scene switches again to an unknown operations room. Steen stands tall and stares at the television
screen. Ryan appears behind him)
Steen: I recognize some of them . . but not all of them.
Ryan: What do you mean? I only see one.
(Ryan looks at the screen angrily; his sights are focused on Snack. Camera zooms in on Snack then
out and it shows a different area where Phearson and Oneshot watch the television)
Oneshot: Is this really okay, master?
(Phearson simply laughs and drinks out of his cup)
(Scene returns to the Army of Seven flooded by the seas of shouts. Behind the curtains, Crimson
Reaper peaks at the event. Lloyd phases out of the wall, panting. Crimson Reaper turns and sees him)
Lloyd: Oh good! (Pants) You're safe!
Crimson Reaper: What's wrong?
Lloyd: Sorry, boss! (Pants) I told her where we were and-
Crimson Reaper: And what?
(A click is heard. The camera turns and shows someone is holding a gun to the back of Crimson
Reaper's head. It is Lynne Varrow)
Lynne: And I'm going to kill you now!
(Lynne pulls the trigger and the screen goes to black)
