1. Scope & Objectives


It is a fact that learning followed by immediate application is most effective. In this course the student is in the last phase of his
academic curriculum and is ready to apply this knowledge to the practical environment to the fullest extent. He acts as a liaison
for the industry institute linkage. The course aims at and focuses attention on many latent attributes which do not surface in the
normal classroom situation.
2. Brief description of the Organization
Elfit Arabia is the leading manufacturer and supplier of Telecom and Electrical products in the region. We deal in more than
2000 items utilized in the Cable Laying & Pulling, Telecommunication Outside Plant (OSP) Network, Optical Fiber Network and
Electrical Installations. Elfit manufactures and exports a wide range electrical products and accessories needed for OutSide
Plant (OSP) Network. Elfit Products such as Copper Cables, Heat shrink Closures, Cabinets and other items that are related to
the Telecom field are outstanding, reliable and one of the best. They deal in huge range of fiber optic cables, patch cords,
connectors, closures, ODF, splicing machines, cleavers and many more products that are widely used in fiber optic installations.
Elfit Cable Laying products includes Winches, Trailers, Rollers, Cable Drums, Pulling Grips. Elfit undertake Mechanical,
Electrical & Plumbing works.
Brief about the PS-I Programme The total duration of this PS I programme is for 8 weeks. The Orientation will be for a period
of 2 weeks consisting of one week for the orientation of the students about the entire PS Station and one week on the area of is
project. This split-up can be modified by the PS-I faculty in consultation with coordinator and the students. It will be followed by
five weeks of project work.

4. Course outcome
After completion of this 8 weeks course the student will be
Knowing the structure and functioning of work organizations
Exposed to managerial functions of production, design, marketing and personnel etc.
Able to understand, take up and write a project.
5. Relation of the course to the programme outcome
In order to aid and inculcate the abilities of an Engineering Graduate and thereby to significantly contribute towards the
accomplishment of the engineering program this course provides following outcomes:
Development of high quality engineers having sufficient knowledge and first hand experience about the functioning of
the corporate world.

Knowledge and skills of new ways of business and innovative marketing strategies so as to survive grow and
succeed.
A much required and justifiable assimilation of technical and administrative or managerial skills for the success of any
organisation.

7. Attendance
Attendance is compulsory in PS-1 course. With prior approval of the PS faculty the student can avail leave for maximum 3
days.
8. Make-Up
No make-up will be given for Group Discussions. Make-up for other components will be given only for genuine cases with the
permission of the Director.
9. Mid-semester Grading and Final grading
The total marks of all the students will be tabulated in a descending order (equivalent to a histogram). The performance of
students at the station will be analyzed in terms of the highest mark, the lowest mark and the division lines between various
clusters. The gaps between clusters and the nature cluster will guide the drawing of dividing lines between various grades.
10. Discipline
The students shall strictly adhere to the timing prescribed by the PS station authorities for the PS-I Programme.
They shall strictly adhere to the disciplinary code and behavioural conduct as desired by the authorities of the PS station.
In the course of their PS - I programme, the students shall not disturb the normal functioning of the PS station.
They shall always route their important requests and queries through the PS faculty.
