Our group is going to present speech for the topic Is it right to kill animals to save human

life

It is on record that historically whenever it has come to choosing between a human and an
animal life, mankind has invariably chosen the former over the latter. This is perhaps why
that mankind has not become extinct unlike other species. It is in keeping with the larger
interest of mankind and environmental balance necessary for the survival of human life.
Without going into the emotional arguments of animal life being valuable, I would like to bring
up certain universal facts about human survival on earth.
From time immemorial, man has survived on food from forests and agriculture. If all
population of the world were to survive on food from farms then that would mean cutting
down all forests for agriculture. Destruction of forests leads to two consequences:
1. Animals will lose their food and shelter and eventually die of homelessness and
starvation.
2. Ecological imbalance due to forest destruction will lead to unsuitable environment for
human living on planet earth.
Moreover, large population of animals will create additional burden on the ecology to provide
for the animals food too, which is simply not possible. Animals eat animals too!
Therefore regardless of whether man kills animal or not, the animals have to die if human
race is to survive. If man will not kill animal, animals will die for want of food and shelter.
Dying animals will kill each other more cruelly than man kills them
For those who support Animals right with emotional and religious arguments, I have just one
thing to tell them: The teeth of human beings are those of an Omnivore. NOT a
herbivore....we are designed to eat meat and therefore must need it.
