PRE-TEST BRIEFING

FOR
CLEP/DSST/ACCUPLACER & PEARSON VUE
EXAMS
Welcome to the UMUC Nation Testing Center. My name is _________ and I will be your
test administrator today. Before your test can begin, we must go over some rules and
administrative procedures. Please listen carefully as I read these rules to you

1. In the event of a fire or evacuation please exit the room in an orderly fashion.
The facility exit doors are located to the right of this room. (point to the doors)
2. Bathrooms are located down the hall in the center of the 2nd floor.
3. There is no smoking in this facility or around the building. You must use the
Designated Tobacco Area (DTA), located down the street next to building 314.
4. Place personal belongings to include books, cell phones (in off mode), drinks,
coats and other items on the counter against the wall.
5. You are only allowed to have authorized items at your testing station as
determined by test protocol. (Let those with special items know)
6. Once testing begins, your test cannot be stopped unless there is an emergency
or system failure has occurred.
7. If you need to take a bathroom break during the test you may do so, but your
test time will continue. You will not be allowed to take anything with you and
must return promptly.
8. Please keep quite during the testing session. This is especially true if others are
testing at the same time.
9. If you need assistance during the test please raise your hand and I will come
assist you.

All scratch paper, pencils and issued items must be returned directly after
your test is complete. Scratch paper will be shredded.

You may not copy test questions or material.
12.
Cheating will not be tolerated. If you are caught cheating your test will be
terminated and a report sent forward to the proper authorities. We cannot
stress this enough.

Once you have finished your test and received your score sheet (if
available) you can collect your belongings, sign out and exit the testing room.
