At Indian Lake Elementary we value each childs gifts and work toward guaranteeing that ALL children become life-long
learners. Honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility are the foundation of our motto: Enter to Learn ~ Depart to Contribute.
Thus, we form a team where students, parents, and teachers partner for the success of each child. The following compact
reinforces and supports that partnership.
As teachers and staff members we will:
Provide high quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment that enables the
participating children to meet the States student academic achievement standards.
Hold parent-teacher conferences at least twice each year to discuss academic and social issues that impact your
childs academic success.
Provide quarterly report cards clarifying your childs academic progress in all curricular areas.
Provide e-mail addresses, phone access, and conferencing opportunities for parents to communicate with teachers
and staff members.
Provide opportunities for parents to support student learning through homework, volunteerism, school improvement
activities, PTSO events, Open House, and more.
As parents, we will support our children in the following ways:
Send my child to school prepared and on time each day.
Provide good nutrition and adequate rest.
Support my childs successes and encourage special talents.
Help my child make good decisions about friendship and use of free time.
Help my child be a good problem solver and peacemaker.
Encourage the love of learning by example and by a positive attitude toward school.
Be attentive to information that comes from school (newsletters, telephone calls, etc.)
Visit the school and volunteer when able.
Attend parent-teacher conferences.
Demonstrate respect toward Indian Lake Elementary staff members.
As students, we will agree to make every attempt to:
Be on time each day.
Be prepared for class each day.
Tell parents and teachers what I need to be a successful learner.
Eat healthy food and get enough sleep each night.
Demonstrate Honesty, Caring, Respect, and Responsibility in school and at home.
Become a problem solver and a peacemaker.
Do my personal best each day.
Ask for help when I need it.
Share my ideas in an appropriate manner.
Talk to my parents and caregivers about my learning.
Bring homework and notes to and from school each day.
Use caring language when dealing with classmates and staff members.
