INTRODUCTION

ITS IMPOSSSIBLE TO CREATE A HOMEMADE ROCKET UP

FROM CHEMICAL REACTION WITH SIMPLE MATERIALS
With the explosive power of sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) and
vinegar, you can make your own rocket taking off.
Its fun and easy to make a rocket with simple materials found at
home, is not dangerous as rockets fireworks Besides contaminants, to
realize any danger is not running , or expensive is in any team
protection or special space needed ...
Besides being fun, it is very interesting to understand the chemical
reaction produced by combining these materials and does not require
much time.

OBJECTIVES

support the carbon dioxide gas is sufficient to raise a rocket at a

distance ( a comparison of fireworks)
Check that the driving power of a hydrodynamic rocket can be
obtained from the chemical transformation of some substances,
with no in between a combustion reaction.
Note that reaction has vinegar with sodium bicarbonate (baking
soda).

MATERIALS
vinegar
sodium bicarbonate (baking soda)
cork
tape
bottle soda
wool
cardboard

STEPS
1: The Greatest Managers bottle is cut approximately in half (this
serves as a base)

2. The base of the rocket is made with a piece of cardboard into a cone
shape and is attached to the bottle with diurex

3. A package is made with three tablespoons of baking soda, bends

and is tied with thread

4. Three tablespoons of vinegar is added to the bottle.

5. The package bicarbonate gets inside the bottle will be held when the
thread is tape cork bottle

6. Finally in a the free space in turn the bottle to mix everything

What happen?
When mixed substances (bicarbonate and vinegar), gas release
occurs, thereby increasing the pressure within the bottle. This results in
a release of pressure at the weakest place of the bottle: the mouth

Conclusion

In conclusion we note that the vinegar to be in a closed container and

mixed with a substance (sodium bicarbonate) makes reaction so that
uncovered the bottle was closed with cork
