Proyect:The black mamba
Introduction: this experiment is a very good form to look how a
polymer combine with other items react to high temperatures. Components: A glass A fireproof container (or a can) Sand Sugar Baking soda alcohol A match Steps: 1. combine four sugar tablespoon with a baking soda tablespoon. 2. Pour some sand in the bottom of the fireproof container and make a little hole on the sand. 3. Pour alcohol into the sand until it gets wet. 4. Pour the baking soda mixture into the hole. 5. Light the match, get it closer to the wet sand, back off and look how it changes.
Theory: the sugar is a polymer that contains a big
number of carbon atoms, and this are black color. So when you apply anothers items and you rise the temperature it converts in a black mamba. Conclusion: this experiments can teach people how certain substance reacts to an expecific temperature. A chemical fountain introduction: this is a way to learn that chemical reactions not only appear when a substance gains or lose temperature. Components: A bottle Vinegar 1/2L Baking soda Two pieces of plastic hose Clay A needle Steps: 1. mold a clay cork and insert the pieces of hose into the cork, so that the longest one almost reaches the bottom of the bottle, and the shortest half. 2. cover the bottom end of the hose well . 3. Pour ½ of vinegar in the bottle. 4. put the cork in the mouth of the bottle. cover the holes that remain around and let the clay harden. Theory: Gases can be produced during chemical reactions in enclosed spaces, this increases air pressure and causes gases to live in the form of bubbles. Conclusion: is a good way to see how gases are release. For example this experiment in which we combine baking soda and vinegar what cause some gases to be realese.
