Born in Barbados in 1905, Neville Goddard was a metaphysical teacher who

taught the Law of Attraction through lectures given on TV, the radio, in books,
and in person. For decades, he was one of the most influential teachers on how
our thoughts and feelings have the power to create.
These are some of my favorite quotes from Nevilles book, The Power of
Awareness.

All transformation begins with an intense, burning desire to be transformed.

The first step in the renewing of the mind is desire. You must want to be
different [and intend to be] before you can begin to change yourself. Then you
must make your future dream a present fact. You do this by assuming the feeling
of your wish fulfilled. By desiring to be other than what you are, you can create
an ideal of the person you want to be and assume that you are already that
person. If this assumption is persisted in until it becomes your dominant feeling,

the attainment of your ideal is inevitable.
The ideal you seek and hope to attain will not manifest itself, will not be
realized by you, until you have imagined that you are already that ideal. There is
no escape for you except for a radical psychological transformation of yourself,
except your assumption of the feeling of your wish fulfilled.
You must assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled until your assumption has all
the sensory vividness of reality. You must imagine that you are already
experiencing what you desire. That is, you must assume the feeling of the

fulfillment of your desire until you are possessed by it and this feeling crowds all
other ideas out of your consciousness.
Whenever you become completely absorbed in an emotional state, you are at

that moment assuming the feeling of the state fulfilled. If persisted in,
whatsoever you are intensely emotional about you will experience in your
world. These periods of absorption, of concentrated attention, are the
beginnings of the things you harvest.
The future must become the present in your mind if you would wisely operate
the law of assumption.
Perpetual construction of future states without the consciousness of already
being them, that is, picturing your desire without actually assuming the feeling
of the wish fulfilled, is the fallacy and mirage of mankind. It is simply futile
day-dreaming.
Live your life in a sublime spirit of confidence and determination; disregard
appearances, conditions, in fact all evidence of your senses that deny the
fulfillment of your desire. Rest in the assumption that you are already what you
want to be.

Every moment of your life, consciously or unconsciously, you are assuming a

feeling.
(Note from me: The next quote might be the most important quote of all. Make
sure you read it twice. I discuss it in Manifesting Love: Specific Person if you
need more explanation.)
One of the greatest pitfalls in attempting to use the law of assumption is
focusing your attention on things, on a new home, a better job, a bigger bank
balance. This is not the righteousness without which you die in your sins.
Righteousness is not the thing itself; it is the consciousness, the feeling of
already being the person you want to be, Of already having the thing you desire.
What should be done between the assumption of the wish fulfilled and its
realization? Nothing. It is a delusion that, other than assuming the feeling of the

wish fulfilled, you can do anything to aid the realization of your desire.
The present moment is always the most opportune in which to eliminate all
unlovely assumptions and to concentrate only on the good. As well as yourself,

claim for others their Divine inheritance. See only their good and the good in
them. Stir the highest in others to confidence and self-assertion by your sincere

assumption of their good, and you will be their prophet and their healer, for an
inevitable fulfillment awaits all sustained assumptions. You win by assumption

what you can never win by force.
Your assumption, to be effective, cannot be a single isolated act; it must be
maintained attitude of the wish fulfilled.

Hi,

I am a follower of Nevilles teachings.. as he explains through art of prayer a 3
step process 1. know what you want 2. select an event fulfiling your desire 3.

immobilize your body in a state akin to sleep. He himself attracted his second
wife.
My question is : i live in India, where we do not stay together before marriage.
So what event would justify my wish to attract specific person fullfiled?? need
some examples as i am confused.
I am also practicing exercises from your book.

justified his wish by imagining he was sleeping next to the person he
wanted to be his wife every night.

I will tell you my story of LOA. Since I was 8, I had only one dream, to come to
America. I was daydreaming about it every minute. Everyone under the sun
made fun of me, I didnt care. That was my only dream. I learned perfect English,
I subscribed to American magazines, listened only to American music. My family

was taunting me, we had noone in America, we had no money, I was a girl,
etc.I didnt listen. The DAY i became 18, I got me a passport. Just because. One
year after that I was in the US, in a series of magical events that unfolded. I didnt
know it had a name, LOA, but it worked for me. I know our every desire can
become reality if we only believe.

Just a wonderful, wonderful thought from Neville, himself. I see a lot about
people discouraging others from attracting a specific person because its
against their will or what if youre meant to be with someone betterwhile I
may meant to be with someone better I am desiring a specific person for a
REASON. I always struggled with what Ive been reading and what Ive been
feeling is the right thing for me and while reading some of Neville Goddards
material over the past few days he says this,
When you have a desire, the deeper you, who men call God, is speaking. He
urges you, through the language of desire, to accept that which is not that which
is to be! Desire is simply his communion with you, telling you that your desire is
yours, now! Your acceptance of this fact is proved by your complete adjustment
to it as though it were true.
