An In-Class Project
The Project:
Develop a series of instructions that allow you to guess the number
The Requirements:
In Class Day 1:
1. Write and submit the rough draft of your problem.
1. It must be at least 5 steps long.
2. Write out the instructions.
3. Show why the trick works in two ways:
1. Use a number as an example.
2. Use a variable (x) to justify your project algebraically.
Due: AT THE END OF CLASS
In Class Day 2: After the rough draft has been accepted and
returned to you:
2. Make a presentation version of the problem.
1. Write (or type) your instructions on one side of the paper. You must use
the instructions you developed in class.
2. Be creative and colorful. A4 paper is fine.
3. HIDE the answer so it is available, but not obvious.
4. Be prepared to have your trick worked by the class.
