REGULATION ORDINANCE NO. 2013-293

AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE ABOLITION OF TWO (2)
POSITIONS OF AGRICULTURAL TECHNOLOGIST, ITEMS NO. 15 & 19
(SG-10), CITY AGRICULTURIST OFFICE AND ONE (1) POSITION OF
COMMUNITY AFFAIRS OFFICER II, ITEM NO. 92 (SG-15), CITY
MAYOR'S OFFICE, ILOILO CITY

WHEREAS, last July 3, 2013 the Committee on Good Government and Public
Accountability (Blue Ribbon Committee) received a letter from Hon. Jed Patrick E. Mabilog, City
Mayor;

WHEREAS, the letter includes the request of Hon. Jed Patrick E. Mabilog, City Mayor, for
the abolition of two (2) positions of Agricultural Technologist, Items No. 15 & 19 (SG-10), City
Agriculturist Office and one (1) position of Community Affairs Officer II, Ite~o. 92 (SG-15),
City Mayor's Office and at the same time creating four (4) positions: Two (2) Executive Assistant
IV, SG-22, One (1) Executive Assistant II, SG-17, Office of the Mayor and One (1) Tourism
Operations Officer I, SG- 11, City Tourism and Development Office.

WHEREAS, the creation of the vacant positions will not entail additional cost on the part of
the Iloilo City Government;
WHEREAS, the positions have been deemed necessary and urgent by the Office of the City
Mayor for faster service to our constituents;
WHEREAS, Section 76 ofRepublic Act 7160 states that:

Sec. 76 - "Every LGU shall design and implement its owns structure and
staffing pattern taking into consideration its service requirements and
financial capability, subject to the minimum standards and guidelines
prescribed by the Civil Service Commission. "
NOW THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of the City oflloilo, that:
Section 1. - The two (2) positions of Agricultural Technologist, Items No. 15 & 19 (SG-10),
City Agriculturist Office and one (1) position of Community Affairs Officer II, Item No.92 (SG-22)
are hereby ABOLISHED immediately;
Section 2. - This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
