    No challengers for Sheriff Baca, Supervisors Molina, Yaroslavsky

    Supervisors Gloria Molina and Zev Yaroslavsky and Sheriff Lee Baca have reached today's filing deadline for the
    June 8 primary without drawing any challengers.

    But 13 candidates have filed to run for assessor. Assessor Rick Auerbach announced in January he would resign
    at the end of the month, vacating the post he has held since 2000.

    "I have long felt that I would know when it was time to retire and turn this

    Auerbach said in January. "I admit that I want to spend more time with five
    wonderful grandchildren who bring me so much joy."
