Anticipatory Set
-Remind the students why they are doing this language review bell work everyday
-Prompt them to (teacher will say) remember back to what we are doing in our grammar
lessons everyday and be ready to correct the mistakes in the bell work. You should be using
these skills in grammar so this should be review for us!
Objective(s) (Include AZ State Standard)
-Following instruction, the student will be able to locate the grammar mistakes and correct
them.
-3.L.1: Demonstrate command of the conventions of Standard English grammar and usage
when writing or speaking.
-3.L.2: Demonstrate command of the conventions of Standard English capitalization,
punctuation, and spelling when writing.

-Have students turn and tell their partner one skill they had to recall in the bell work to make
the corrections.
-As students are finishing up the corrections on their papers, I will prompt them to put it in
their desks quietly and to get out the supplies that they will need for the next activity.
-I will also remind the students to remember these skills when they are working in their
reading groups and during our grammar lesson.
Independent Practice (Assessment/Homework)
-There is no assessment or homework for this activity, but the students do need to use these
skills that they have reviewed in the bell work as tools when they are working in their reading
groups and writing assignments everyday.
