Mrs. Libby (5th grade) & Mrs. Grace (2nd & 3rd grade) will each be holding Small Groups with whom we will practice guided reading and support literacy strategies with our bubble babies (using FSA & Achieve3000 scores) to promote continued growth on standardized assessments. We hope to support school-wide literacy as well as individual reading growth and an overall love of reading!
Fifty years ago on this date, the United Nations
Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization established International Literacy Day as a way to promote literacy to empower individuals, communities, and societies internationally. Todays celebration honors the past five decades of engagement, efforts, and progress made to increase literacy worldwide. Duval County Public Schools promotes literacy in various ways, including literacy weeks, the Superintendents Reading Challenge, DJs Book Club, a partnership with the Jacksonville Public Library that offers both student and educator library cards, and more!
