PRIDE OF MOTHERING: DIFFERNCES BETWEEN WOMAN,

MOTHER AND MOTHERING

Oxford Dictionary has helped me in differentiating these three (3) concepts.
Woman

Mother

Mothering

According to my helper Oxford Advance Learners Dictionary (6th Edition).

Defines the following concept as:
Woman as an adult female human being
Mother as a female parent of a child or animal; a person who is acting as a mother to a child.
Mothering as the act of caring for and protecting children or other people.
Before I proceed I will like to throw this question to whom it may concern.
WHAT ARE YOU TO YOUR CHILDREN?
a. Woman b. Mother

c. Mothering

d. b&c

Just a simple WH-question.

From the above definition it is clearly stated without any impartial view to the difference
between been a woman, mother and mothering.
There are women and mothers all over the globe but its rare (scarce) to get all these two (2)
women and mother with mothering attributes.
Pride of being a mothering goes beyond child delivery but child upbringing, child
caring, child protection and child training.
In the society we are now there are a lot of womans and mothers. It takes a lot sacrifices to have
or allow yourself of becoming a mother with such mothering attributes. I like say; it is easy to

become a woman and a mother as well. Been a mother is just a personal decision matter of
choice, but having a mothering attribute cost a lot.
How does it cost?

People who have such mothering attributes are rare in this our pervasive world, they stand for the
welfare of their family without minding whether the husband is alive or as good as death being,
i.e they take care of their children without minding whether the so-called husband is existing or
not.
They prefer wearing a particular cloth each day or cloth of low quality just for their children to
have Education. Sending their children to school and never allow them to be hungry or faced
with financial depress.
She cut down her Ego (standard) in terms of academic prestige or facial standard (Beauty) just
for her children to be happy and be well recognize in the society.
She always laid down an exemplary life for her children to follow must especially the daughters
i.e how they ought to behave in their various home and having an attributes of mothering good
mothering.
Some people worth the title of Woman and Mother but the lack Mothering abilities or
attributes, up to the extent that some female animals are far better than them in that aspect of
mothering.
Am happy to God Almighty for giving my father a woman as a wife but he use this treasure of
father to bless us (children) with not only a mother but mother with differences, mother with
mothering attributes (qualities). I will ever be grateful to you GOD.
Hmmm, there is only one problem that worries my heart each time I think of my next
generation to come (My Children) which is will they be opportune to have the same privilege I
had, having not only a Mother but mother posses mothering attributes. God will take control.

Am proud to say this aloud I have a mother precious and special mother with all these
attributes of mothering charisma.
Mummy you are a virtuous woman in reference to proverbs 31: 10-31 woman, wife and
mother of Noble character.
Please find name that goes beyond general name mother, mum or mummy. Generate
Special well customize name for your mother because she deserve it only if she has that
mothering attributes. Like my mother we they children call her Nmedi, and that name is so
special to me most especially. Nmedi means Edi-mum or mum-Edward (mum-Edi).
My earnest prayer to all mothers with such mothering attributes is that God will sustain
you to eat from your garden because you are such a great gardener.
