Whenyoumeetanoncomingschoolbusdisplayingflash
ingamberlights,youmustslowdowntonomorethan20
mphandbepreparedtostop.Iftheredlightsareflashingor
ifthestoparmisout,youmustcometoacompletestopat
least15feetfromthebus.Youmustremainstoppedaslong
astheredlightsflashorthestoparmisout.
Theonlyexceptiontothisiswhereyouareapproaching
thebusfromtheoppositedirectiononaroadwithatleast
twolanesineachdirection.
Whenovertakingaschoolbus,youmaynotpasswhen
redoramberwarninglightsareflashing.
Afteraschoolbushasstoppedtoletstudentsoff,watch
forchildrenonthesideoftheroad.
Iftheredlightsareflashingorifthestoparmisout,youmust
cometoacompletestopatleast15feetfromthebusand
remainstoppedaslongastheredlightsflashorthestoparm

isout.

Driversareresponsibleformakingsuretheirvehiclesdo
notbecomeahazardaftertheyhavebeenparked.Whenever
youparkyourcar,followtheseguidelines.
Parkfarenoughfromanytravellanetoavoidinter
feringwithtraffic.
Makesureyourcarisvisibletodriversapproaching
fromeitherdirection.
Parkinadesignatedarea,ifpossible.
Alwayssetyourparkingbrakewhenyoupark.Leave
thevehicleingearifithasamanualtransmission,

out.Shutthedoorassoonasyoucanaftergetting

Neverleavetheignitionkeysinaparkedcar.Lock
thedoorswheneveryouleaveyourvehicleifitwill

Ifyoumustparkonaroadway,parkyourvehicleas
farawayfromtrafficaspossible.Ifthereisacurb,
parkasclosetoitasyoucan.
Whenyouparkheadeddownhill,turnyourfront
wheelstowardthecurborroadsidesothevehicle
willrollawayfromtrafficifitmoves.
Ifyouareheadeduphill,turnyourfrontwheelsaway
fromthecurb.Thenletthecarrollbackslightlyuntil
therightfronttirehitsthecurb.Ifyouareparking
uphillandthereisnocurb,turnyourfrontwheels
towardthesideoftheroad.Thatway,thevehicle
willrollawayfromtrafficifitmoves.

closerthan10feetfromastopsign;
closerthan20feetfromafirestationentrance;
closerthan50feetfromahotelortheaterentrance;
closerthan50feetfromarailroadcrossing;

inNOPARKINGZONESwhichareusuallymarked
