JZX Function / Connections

To pin 5 (TT) of TDCL

To pin 3 (L) of neutral start switch (AT indicator

switch), to pin 6/23 on cluster to light 'L' lamp, to pin 10
of AT indicator. 12V power is through neutral start
switch when in the L position therefore 12V on pin 2/28
tells the ECU that the shifter is in the 'L' position.

To pin 'LL" on "selection display (forbidden start

switch)". According to the manual (in Russian with
Google translate with selector in "L" pin 2/28 should
see 7.5-14V, with the selector in any other position pin
2/28 should see 0-1.5V.

Grounds the magnetic clutch relay which in turn closes

Not used on any version of the JZX100 in conjunction
the clutch and puts 12V on pin 2-25 (A/C1) of AC
with the 1JZGTE engine
Computer

Possible fix

Disconnect wire from ECU plug and connect loom side

wire to pin 20/28 to use the switched ground in the AC
computer to close the magnetic clutch relay.

To pin 9 (ECT) of TDCL, to pin 2 of O/D switch, to pin

18/23 of cluster to ground the O/D off light. Circuit is
grounded when the O/D switch is closed therefore 0V
on pin 6/28 tells the ECU that O/D is off.

To pin 9 (ECT) of TDCL, to pin 13/13 on cluster to

ground and illuminate ECT power lamp.

Possible fix

On the JZZ the ECT power lamp is lit directly from the
ECT power switch so the pin 6/28 function of the
Power FC ECU is not required. Do not connect wire to
pin 6/28. This means that all the OD button on the
JZZ shifter does is light the OD off lamp (see possible
fix 2 for pin 15/28).

To pin 1 of the "gearbox up level switch" and to pin

6/13 (3) on the cluster to put 12V on a lamp (labelled
"3". Through the "gearbox up level switch" may be
connected to pin 9 (DL) of "selection display (forbidden
start switch)" Appears that 12V supply is through the
"selection display (forbidden start switch)". According
to the manual (in Russian with Google translate) 01.5V at pin 15/28 means "Turn 1 and 4 transmission",
7.5-14V at pin 15/28 means "3 includes transfer". This
could be interpreted as OD on/off with high voltage
being OD off. However the Tiptronic MkIV supra uses
a pin designated "3" to allow manual shifting using the
steering wheel mounted button, in this case 12V on pin
3 allows manual shifting and 0V allows full auto
shifting.

Possible fix

Fix 1. Do not connect to pin 15/28 which should mean

that when the ECU has 0V at pin 2/28 (L), pin 10/28
(S) and pin 24/28 (R) and the selector is in position D
the ECU considers the transmission to be in D with
OD on. This will work if the function of the pin is
similar to OD on/off and if the function is to select
manual gearbox control.
Fix 2. Install a normally open relay with 12V supply to
coil and switch from pin 8/10 of the AT indicator,
connect the other side of the switch to pin 15/28 on the
ECU, connect the ground side of the coil to the loom
side of 6/28 (where the OD switch on the JZZ shifter
is). With the OD switch open the relay will be open
and pin 15/28 of the PFC will see 0V allowing 4th gear
selection. With the OD switch closed the relay will be
closed, pin 15/28 of the PFC will see 12V allowing only
1st to 3rd and the OD light will be on. This soluion will
only work if the function of the pin is similar to OD
on/off.

Possible fix

Leave disconnected from the loom.

To pin 4 (RSPD) of "lock operating relay". According

to the manual (in Russian and with Google Translate)
should be 9-14V when "the engine is idling". The
MkIV Supra manual suggests that RSPD means
"Road Speed Signal" and that it is an output to the
shift lock system which allows the tiptronic gearbox to
be shifted without pressing the brake pedal.

OK

Leave disconnected because the diodes in the wiring

to pin 28/28 covers this.

According to the official list of Toyota Acronyms

THWO means AC amplifier. Not a lot to be done
about this other than leave it disconnected from the
PFC as the JZZ AC control has no appropriate output.
