An innocent child taken, kidnaped, gone.

Brief outline of idea: (No more than 10 lines)

Erin is only 8 years old playing in the park when a strange man with a
large variety of goodies walks over to her and starts talking to her about
if she came along with him, shed get everything. She reluctantly
obliged and followed. Her mother realised that she was gone and ran
around screaming for her. She ran to the carpark and saw her in a car
with an old man. She jumped in front of the car but he sped up and hit
her. Straight cut to her funeral and a missing space where her daughter
would sit. In the back of the room the kidnapper is standing, smiling.

Detailed plot:

Equilibrium

A young girl playing in the park alone, around 7 or 8.

Wearing a small pink dress and a summer hat. Her
mothers walked off to see her friend. She can be seen
in the background after walking away. All sound is swing
squeaking, birds chirping and muffled conversation of the
mothers.

Disruption

A man walked over with sweets and bribed Erin to follow

him back to his car. She agreed reluctantly and followed
along with him over to the car park.

Recognitio
n

The mother walks back over to the swings and sees her
child missing. She starts screaming her name frantically
and trying to find her by running around the park and
looking in all the hiding spots.

Attempt to
repair

The mother hears her daughter scream and runs over to

the sound to see the man driving out the car park. She
jumps in front of the car and screams stop! but he speeds
up and hits her. The audience can hear the sound of the
engine revving and the screech of wheels. Screen goes
black.

New
Equilibrium

Scene at the church where the mothers funeral is taking

place. The camera pans down to an empty chair on the
front row. The audience work out that this is where the
daughter wouldve sat. The camera pans then up to the
back of the church to which the audience sees the strange
man standing at the back smiling. The audience can hear a
speech being made at the front and as the camera zooms
into the man at the back quiet laughter can be heard.
Once the screen goes black the laughter begins to get
louder.

1. EXT. CHILDRENS PARK - DAY
In Ashenbury park, the sun is shining and the sound of the
swings can be heard.
CAROLINE
Are you having fun? Is it okay if I just go over to see my
friend over there?
ERIN
Thats okay, Ill be fine.
CAROLINE
Thank you darling, Ill be back in a minute.
CAROLINE kisses ERIN on the head and begins to walk away
towards her friend in the background
Camera cuts to CAROLINE and her friend SANDRA
SANDRA
Hiya, its been a while, hows things going?
CAROLINE
Things are okay, Erin is struggling at her new school, shes
just not able to get on with anyone
Camera cuts back to ERIN on the swings, a blurry picture of a
male can be seen in the background walking towards ERIN.
Squeaking of the swing and muffled, faint voices of the
mothers talking can be heard.
Camera then cuts back to the mothers.
SANDRA
I feel like little Sammy here is settling very well into
preschool very well, he seems so much happier now

CAROLINE
Wow, I just wish Erin would have the same experience.
SANDRA

That makes sense, Im sure everything will be okay. Lets

go back over to her, see if shes okay.
CAROLINE and SANDRA walk over to the swing. CAROLINE begins to
get flustered and begins to run.
CAROLINE
Wait a minute, where the hell is ERIN?
SANDRA
Did you leave her at the swings?
CAROLINE
I did, where did she go?
CAROLINE and SANDRA begin to shout
CAROLINE
Erin, where are you? This isnt funny
SANDRA
Erin? Where are you?
CAROLINE and SANDRA can be seen running around the park,
frantically looking for her.
FADE OUT.
2. INT. CAROLINES HOUSE DAY
CAROLINE and SANDRA are both sitting on separate sofas
drinking a cup of tea. CAROLINE is close to crying and SANDRA
is trying to console her.
CAROLINE
Its been four days, who would do such a thing?
SANDRA
Oh babe, I dont know but whoever it is, they have a sick and
twisted mind.

CAROLINE
Its all my fault, I shouldnt have left her alone. Im so
stupid.
SANDRA

No no no, its not your fault at all, you werent to know

what would happen. What have the police said?
CAROLINE
Not a lot, theyre always on the look for her but nothing yet,
I guess theyre doing the best they can.
SANDRA
Exactly, Im sure theyll find her, just hope for the best.
CAROLINE
I guess
SANDRA
Come on, lets get out, go get coffee or something.
3. EXT. HIGHSTREET DAY
CAROLINE and SANDRA are walking down a busy street.
ERIN and her captor briskly walk past them.
CAROLINE
Wait a minute.
SANDRA
What?
CAROLINE
Dont worry, its nothing.
SANDRA
No tell me, its clearly important.
I just keep seeing
its always just my
walk past us hand
sworn I heard her

CAROLINE
or hearing Erin and I get my hopes up but
mind tricking me. I thought I just saw her
in hand with a big ginger man, I couldve
say Mummy but I doubt it actually was.

SANDRA
Its okay, I understand, its just your paranoia getting to
you again.

CAROLINE
It was just so clear.
SANDRA

Dont worry yourself too much. Id just like to go in this

shop, is that okay?
CAROLINE
Thats fine, Ill go over the street and grab us some coffee
SANDRA
Sounds good, you know where I am, Ill meet you in there.
As SANDRA walked into the shop, CAROLINE crosses the street
and looks to her right and sees ERIN and her captor walk into
a dark alley. CAROLINE begins to sprint over and starts
shouting.
CAROLINE
Hey, wait, stop that man, he has my daughter
As CAROLINE runs round the corner and spots the man talking to
her daughter
4. EXT. DARK ALLYWAY DUSK
NATHANIAL and ERIN are standing talking to each other, there
are large dustbins either side, one overhead lamp flickering
above.
CAROLINE
Excuse me, who the hell are you are?
ERIN
Mummy!
CAROLINE
Honey, come here, get away from him
NATHANIAL (laughing)
No, stay here, Ill give you a better life.
CAROLINE lunges forward towards NATHANIAL, a full on fight
breaks out with punches and kicks, blood dripping from
CAROLINEs nose.
NATHANIAL (hysterically laughing)
Give up, shes mine now.
CAROLINE jumped forward again into NATHANIAL. A blood curdling
scream came from CAROLINE as NATHANIAL stabs a knife into
CAROLINES stomach. CAROLINE falls to the floor bleeding
profusely.

ERIN
Mummy! No!
NATHANIAL grabbed ERIN by the arm and ran away quickly.
Camera stays focused on CAROLINES dying, bleeding body.
Cut to black
5. INT CHURCH FUNERAL SERVICE DAY RAINING
A coffin at the front of the hall with a room full of people
all dressed in black. A picture of CAROLINE is propped up at
the front next to the coffin.
A priest, standing in front of the coffin, making a speech,
words cannot be understood as they have been muffled out.
The camera pans to the front row where there is an empty
space with a picture of ERIN in a frame.
Camera then looks up to the back of the room to which
NATHANIAL is standing at the back. Screen cuts to black but
laughter carries on.
