Subject: Request for Technical and Financial Assessment of Hydropower and

Transmission/distribution system

With reference to letter ________ dated 24-8-16 regarding GIFT deed signed between AEDB
& UET Taxila. In this project two micro-hydel turbines (MHT) are donated to UET Taxila of
capacity 40kW each for R&D and power generation purposes. The turbines are currently
looked after by Chitral Engineering Works (CEW). One of them is designed by CEW and
Planned to be upgraded through design modification. However, these turbines are not fully
functional and require some maintenance and repair work to become fully operational.
Therefore, in view of your expertise, a detailed technical and financial assessment of power
generation hydraulic machinery along with the transmission and distribution system from
Mohra Maradu to UET Taxila (of approximately 4 km) is kindly requested by your experts.
In this assessment, following aspects are included:
Power generation by turbines
o Variation/fluctuation in power with max and min capacity ratings
o Life assessment of turbine
o Annual maintenance & repair
o Financial requirements to become fully functional
Assessment of transmission and distribution system
o Cost assessment in term of logistics and infrastructure (about a distance
of 4 km)
o annual Maintenance and repair
Cost benefit analysis of whole project
