Settling in

Assalam alaikum Sulaiman, your mum has asked us to call you by your nickname
Saloomi which we think is pretty cool. Well this last month has been a time for you
to get used to being away from your mum and learning to trust that the centre can
meet all your needs and wants, just like your mum and dad, and whanau do. You have
settled so easily into our routines with your gentle relaxed disposition. Everything
here is new to you, everything seems attractive and worth touching, smelling, and
tasting. You are full of energy, active, and curious.
Our environment is designed to meet the overall needs of pre-schoolers and to
facilitate their development through age-appropriate experiences. Due to the
individuality of each child expectations vary; each child is challenged but not
hurried. We will let you, Saloomi, set the pace and we will be right here to support
you in a warm, safe, and caring environment.

Learning outcomes: Well-being/Manu atua Goals:

Children experience an
environment where their health is promoted; their emotional well-being is nurtured;
and they are safe from harm. Teachers will observe and respond to signals of
distress, hunger, and tiredness.
