What is Habit formation?

Habit formation are actions that a child
engages in that become easy to do even
without thinking about it. Habits in Children can
range from the style of walking, biting their
nails, sucking their fingers, chewing pencils,
waking up earlyChapter
etc. 1
A habit is something that is acquired and
learned through a continuous process. There are
some habit that are good for the development
of the child while some habit are harmful, bad
and dangerous to them.

The parents, family members, caregivers and

teachers are responsible for good habit
formation in children. Children learn by what
they see and hear, therefore, parents and
teachers should be good a example to the
children.
It is best to form good habits in children in their
early years and good habits that the child
exhibits willingly should be encouraged.
When the child does something bad, the
parents and teachers should correct such wrong
and undesirable behavior.
