Commitment to HSE through Leadership.
Leadership should be committed to achieve a
zero LTI rate by understanding & abiding by the
company’s HSSE policy and objectives and the
company’s HSSE standards and Procedures.

Conducting workplace HSE inspections like


identification of hazards and the control
measurements.
 Promoting HSE issues in company
communications.
 Attending and chairing HSE meeting, incident
investigation, and audits and conducting
management review.
 Encourage feedback and suggestion from
employees and motivate them to improve their
HSE Performance.

HSE Policy should be communicated to all
employees during their initial orientation/ in house
induction and also displayed at the head office
notice board in English.  
 
4. Hazard & Effects Management – Hazards are identified
& controls in place
Hazard effect management process
Hazard and Effect Management Process (HEMP) is a risk
management process which ensures that Hazards/Risks to
workforce, equipments, properties and environments are
properly controlled. In cases of failure in controls, it helps
manage the impacts of incidents as well.

Performance monitoring, incident reporting &
learnings cascaded and improvement requirements
documented
Every business relies on performance metrics to
improve their bottom line, and HSE departments are
no exception. These metrics help identify areas that
need improvement, as well as trends over time.

8. Management Review – Continuous HSE
performance and MS review process
Every HSE management system needs to be
reviewed to verify that current goals are
being met and new initiatives are being put in
place and practiced regularly.
Conclusion – The priority a company and
senior managers give to health and safety at
work and the extent to which managers use
their authority to promote compliance with
occupational health and safety rules and the
respective policy within the company
motivates the individuals to orient their
behaviour on the standards set by
management.
