HARDLY IN CLASS
By Javon Ferguson
Junior Cheyanne Hardy and fellow journalist took the time out of her day to answer some questions.

Hardys favorite type of phone is the iPhone. Her favorite color is red and her favorite type of music is Rap.

She is also a very beautiful girl.

Her favorite pizza is chicken pizza and her

favorite type of dinosaur is a T-Rex, one of
the most well-known dinosaurs from the
prehistoric age.
If Hardy she would go to Canada, but
Canada is cold so she should probably
bundle.
Her favorite sea animal is a sea turtle and
her favorite dog is a Rottweiler.

...there are two type of people in the world: people who desire to be here
to succeed and people who are scared to learn.

DOLBY-WAN KANOBI
By Katelyn Givhan
In an interview with a fellow classmate, it was discovered that he is a very special person.
Dawon was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. He has three sisters followed by four bothers; he is the third oldest. When he was younger, he imagined himself going to Thurgood
Marshall High School and The Ohio State University.
He describes himself as goofy, educated, and artistic. His motivation comes from wanting
to learn in school and to do well in sports. Most people do not know that his grandmother
is a three time breast cancer survivor.
Smith believes that there are two type of people in the world: people who desire to be here
to succeed and people who are scared to learn.
He feels blessed to have the opportunity to remain on the football team. He regrets some
of the choices he has made, but he wants to change . He will start completing his work
and begin doing what is required in his school.

In order to better understand

Williams, it was asked, What
do you do as child to ensure
your future is bright? His response was rather surprising. I
try to stay away from anything
that is detrimental to my future
and I also try to be generous.
Regarding the present and the
future of our society, Williams
states, I feel that our current
society is in a great amount of
flux and disorder, but I see our
society developing slowly, but
roughly. Then, I believe our
future will just be the diamond
of the rough that for years and
years we have been scrambling
to find.

YOU CALL HIM KD, I CALL HIM KATIE

By Krichonna DeVance
In an interview with the one and only Kaveon Williams, it was discovered that he is currently a junior at Meadowdale High School and an editor for Im Not Lion.
Williams is and intelligent and interesting individual whom is also an avid student athlete. His birthday is November 25 and he is 16 years out the womb. If he could go anywhere in the world he would go to the Bermuda Islands because it seems peaceful.

When asked about his take on relationships, he responded, Truthfully, I feel that it's a
mutual thing. Its 50/50, not 80/20, and I also believe that you should be understanding.
You should understand that if someone is busy, you should be understanding because
sometimes they have to do things and can't focus on just you. Also they can be motivational.

If he could change one thing it

would be the way our society is
set up because within this generation we may be opening
doors of discovery to the upcoming generation, but it seems
like progress is coming out of
the havoc and disorder of our
world, which is harmful.
What does he really stand for?
Williams, never short for words,
says it best: As a person, I
stand for mutual respect, selfhumbleness, but as well as necessary and realistic, self- defense. And, basically, I just
stand for aspects that are more
expressed in this world and this
society. There will be less disorganization or less irrelevant
confrontation, in my opinion.

He was also asked more controversial questions. In regard to gangs, Williams states, My
opinion is I feel that they are very irrelevant. My mother told me, yes, you can be in a
gang and at first you think it's all cool, but then you soon hopefully start to realize that no
one cares when it's time to pay the price. You're all alone and the only way out is death or
jail.
His response to police killings was short, but very interesting. He stated, My opinion is
that police are trained to shoot, but sometimes they take their authority to whole other
levels, but they have to protect themselves, so it could be 50/50.
When questioned about our teens and their future, it seems this may have hit a nerve, so
he tried to keep it simple and sweet. His response was, History repeats itself, but the past
can override the present, so we need to rewrite history or else technology will be advanced
and we will be behind in many areas.
Williams has changed the life of others. He took time out of his life to help someone elses
by helping them to overcome suicide and find the good in life. Yes, there are bad things in
life, but there is so much more to life that can be a good thing.

BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL

By Andrew Caldwell JR
Mahogany Bankston is a very unique young woman from Dayton, Ohio, that has a very simple, but a lazy lifestyle.
Mahogany is a student from Meadowdale High School, but came to Meadowdale from Middletown High School.
Bankston compares Meadowdale to Middletown as follows, I thought Dayton would be kind of like Middletown,
but it went under my expectations. She also mentions Dayton has many problems for her, such as the people she
meets, especially in the schools in Dayton. In Meadowdale, she finds the school to be very unsatisfying, like some
of the teachers, students, as well as the rest of the Dayton community. She may sound like she is a buzz -kill, but
she really isnt; she is very kind and a smart young woman.
Bankston wants to be a surgeon. Thats a very stressful job; however, it appears as if she can be trusted in the
worst situations. Her preferred college is Spellman University, which is in Atlanta, Georgia, which is probably one
of the top cities that has the largest populations besides Chicago. She feels that Spellman University provides her
with a better opportunity to receive an equitable education and she will be able to feel at home on campus.
Now, many young girls of the black community would say they like rappers like Drake, Young Thug, or musicians
like those, but Mahogany likes Zayn Malik, a former One Direction member. She says he is extremely cute . The
funny thing is that she used to like Jaden Smith ,which is not very interesting because she used to like him because he was so adorable as a young kid.
Bankston is a bright young girl. She always turns in her homework even though known sources say that there have
been times that she hasnt done her homework. But, then again, Bankston does get her work done no matter how
late or how early it is, which means she cares about her life and future.
Lastly, she is very polite, even though she has some anger in her, which everyone has, but shes still a nice person.
In her daily life, she said she doesnt do much outside of school. She said that she only watches Netflix, which is
nice, but she said she wants to do more. She wants to go to cinemas, go skating, or do something she hasnt done
before. So, at the end of the conversation, Bankston is a young black girl that is trying to strive for what she wants
to do in life and make a difference.

CELESTIAL KAY
By Erick Dominguez
Kaylah is a fellow journalist who loves
humans and earthlings. She was asked a
few questions so one could get to know her
better.
Her favorite planet is Earth and her favorite Earth food is pizza. Her favorite letter
is K, which is for her name.
Her favorite mammals are humans. Her
favorite breed of dog is the Labrador Retriever. If she was a dinosaur, she would
want to be a Tyrannosaurus Rex. Her
favorite sea animal is a dolphin.

she would go to Heaven. This is an oxymoron, because its out of this world.
If she could have any superpowers, those

crime.
Thats Kaylah! Shes Celestial!

Her favorite president is Obama, because

RICO SUAVE DOMINGUEZ, OLE!

By Kaylah Crutcher
Fellow Meadowdale High School student Erick Dominguez, future film/animation director, reveals certain facts in an interview regarding personal aspects.

Dominguez believes that Meadowdale High School is a decent school. If Meadowdale was
a segregated school, he wouldnt like it. It takes away from people meeting others of different shades and cultures.
He would like to someday go to New York University for college. Dominguez feels that
college is necessary depending on the job one wants to pursue.
His views on the election is that it should be changed because its not really an election for
the greater of our country; its more like a show for entertainment.
If he had the opportunity to change anything about the world, he would absolutely get rid
of crime.
If Dominguez had $1 million dollars, he would start saving the money and automatically
buy a house.
Before he dies he wants the opportunity to go out to space. If he could spend 24 hours
with a celebrity, it would be Kanye West. He could ask him whats going on inside of his
head.

PHILANTHROPHIC HEART
By Savannah Harraway
Mariah Benson is a talented, extraordinary girl. Shes quirky and goofy, but has an open
mind to just about anything. She is a very unique person. Her hair is no longer blue, but
her ever-changing hair colors make her unique.
In five years, she said she sees herself living in a house with her best friend, possibly in
college.
Benson said, If I could change the world, things wouldnt cost money; you would have to
trade something of equal value. That way, you couldnt control anyone with money.
Robin Williams inspires her to do great things because even though he was depressed, he
still made people laugh. What motivates Benson to get out of bed in the morning is getting to see her crush. If she could meet anyone in the world, it would be Johnny Depp
because of a massive crush she had when she was eleven.
She loves to write stories and she sees herself doing that in the future. Bensons favorite
quote is, Pain is only relevant if it still hurts. by Ed Sheeran. Her definition of happiness is happiness when the most depressing things cant get you down.
Someone Benson looks up to is her mother.

FUTURE MODEL
By Anduryn Gallimore
The dashing Dasha Ogletree, a sophomore and a journalist for the Meadowdale High
School newspaper, took the time out of her day to talk to us about how amazing she is.
When shes with her friends, one wouldnt be able to tell that she is a quiet girl. She
doesnt really like school; she mostly comes for the people, like many other students.
If she could go anywhere in the world, she would go to Las Vegas with a close friend.
Ogletree looks up to her sister and wants to have a modeling career when shes older.
Her favorite memory was when she was jamming out to some Mariah Carey and fell down
the stairs.
When shes at a sleepover she likes to prank people. Her favorite Disney character is Liv
from Liv and Maddie.

I want to be remembered for what I have done rather than being known
for having money.

INTRIGUING VIEWPOINTS
By Kaveon Williams
Given the most interesting opportunity to interview fellow classmate , Krichonna DeVance, was,
indeed, mind-bending.
DeVance is currently a junior at Meadowdale
High School. She was born in Fairborn, Ohio, at
the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base on December 29, and she is also 16 years grown, and
will be soon 17 years grown.
DeVance is currently employed at McDonalds,
plus she is very intellectual, talkative, has very
large thought process, is a very honest individual, and a great friend to have.
Her views are quite intriguing. She feels that
society is blind and that we choose whatever we
favor to see, but not what we need to see, that we
seek perfection, but find ways to live a lifestyle of
imperfection and hypocorism.
DeVance feels that if she was given the opportunity to make any changes to our school system, the three main changes would be to advance our education, make the food that we are
given during lunch much healthier, and create a
better plus free student transportation system
for all grades.
If she was elected to be the president of the
United States, she would support our economy
by helping all individuals to have that feeling of
exceptional equality, provide all individuals who
are in need of the essentials of life with the equal

amount of support, and steer away from foreign

affairs and not poke her nose into any situation
that is not of relevance to her economy.
DeVance was asked that if she had the most
wondrous opportunity to magically become an
animal, she knew what she would become. She
would, without a doubt, love to be a unicorn, due
to the fact that they are mystical and magical
animals that could be real, since 40% of the
world has not been discovered.

Finally, if DeVance was given the chance

to be on television program, her new
series would be very similar to the Bad
Girls Club or even Supernatural. She
would also love to meet August Alsina out
of everyone in Americas world history,
just because he is very inspirational, attractive, and enticing (these are HER
ANSWERS!!). Then she would love to
travel to the Bahamas and live there for
one month because of the cultural and
vast beauty.

Also, if a famous author were to write a story

about her, she feels that it will turn into a trilogy,
since her life is much too interesting and wonderful that not one book could even cover one
small percentage. Then, it will also be considered a comedy, mixed with some gangster vibes,
because she is as she says, Gangstalicious.
Plus, if DeVance happened to discover a mysterious planet, while on her strange and gangster
adventures, she would keep this discovery a
secret, and make sure society does not tamper
with her precious Krichonnaville (the name of
the planet) and she wouldnt wait one second to
travel to her new planet on her magical unicorn.

SMILING STAR GAZER

By Mariah Benson
In an interview with Katie Conley, a junior
and fellow journalist at Meadowdale High
School, some interesting facts were discovered.
Going shopping is one of her favorite hobbies. Conley says, I have a problem when it
comes to shopping.
When she isnt working, she likes to spend
her free time hanging with her friends.
Conleys role model is her mom and she one
day would like to be a dental hygienist.

When asked what she would do if she became president, she said she would Redo the
whole Gun Control Policy. She would make
it to where one could only have a gun if one
had a license, and if one had any history with
gun abuse, then they would be denied the
right to have a gun.
If she could have super powers, she would
want telekinesis and mind reading. Her favorite Disney movie is The Lion King, but
she prefers action movies and shows more.
Her favorite show is Criminal Minds at the
moment. Conleys favorite genre of music is
rap, but she doesnt have any specific favorite
artists.
She said that if she could go to space, then
she would look at the planets and the stars.

POETIC JUSTICE
By Dawon Smith
In an interview with a very interesting person, many facts were discovered about Katelyn
Givhan which most people would not know.
Givhan is a 15 year old junior at Meadowdale High School and was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. Being the only child, Katelyn was raised by her mother and father. As a kid, she
saw herself going to Meadowdale High School and would like to go Harvard University to
become a lawyer .
Givhan describes herself as dingy, happy, and sleepy. She is has a kind heart and will do
anything to help others. In her eyes she believes her greatest accomplishment is stepping
out her box. Something that most people dont know about Katelyn is how young she is and
that she likes to write poetry.

She feels that at her age life has been good to her. In Givhans point of view, she regrets not
doing what she needed to do from jump. The biggest she would like to make in her life is to
stop being so outspoken.

GAME BOY
By Cheyanne Hardy
An interview with a classmate Javon Ferguson was interesting. One can discover
hes shy, crazy, fun, imaginative, and chill.
He enjoys attending Meadowdale High
School because he feels its outgoing and
he feels comfortable.
His biggest regret of high school was not
getting all his credits his freshman year.
However, he is doing better and his biggest accomplishment of high school is
getting all his credits last year and he will
do the same this year.

He says adults dont seem to understand

that its not the old days where its no
technology.
If Ferguson had any super power he would
like to have ice powers to mess with people and to stop global warming.
In his free time he likes hanging with
friends. His dream is to go to Italy.

Most teachers and students would be

shocked to know he can be loud. Just ask
Mrs. Godbey and his journalism class. He
and Rico Suave never stop talking. He was
talking so much one day he actually hit his
head on her podium. He doesnt even
know how it happened. He was off to the
school nurse. Mrs. Godbey thought he had
a concussion, but he came back with the
tiniest band-aid the nurse could find in
the bottom of her drawer. Anyway, we
digress. Lets get back to his biography.
After High school Ferguson plans on going
to college and becoming a game designer.

SHE REALLY IS PRECIOUS

By: Alyssa Irwin-Debraux
Here we are with the amazingly bold and beautiful Precious Brown. Shes a junior at
Meadowdale High School. Shes very intelligent. Lets see what her response is to some
questions designed to find out more about her.
When asked about sports, Browns response was, I do cheerleading for Meadowdale
High School. That wasnt surprising, because many females cheering at Meadowdale.
Cheerleading can be a lot of pressure and quite tiring due to the fact that that it required a lot of practicing and cheering at games. Dont forget that she has to keep her
grades up to par in order for her to keep cheering for our Meadowdale Lions.
Brown was asked about her greatest fear. She responded with a good answer. She says
My biggest fear was messing up in high school and not staying focused. This journalist must agree with her on that because if she doesnt do the things she needs to do to
survive in high school, which will give her structure, it will cause her problems. If she
stays focused, for when she graduates from high school, shell then know how to have
structure outside of school.
When asked about how her relationship may or may not be colliding, her response was
quite shocking, Im not in a relationship right now. Im focusing on my school right
now.
Regarding her GPA at this point of the school year, Brown states, I honestly feel like
my GPA is at a 3.4 at this point of the year. She is very intelligent and has a great role
model. Who is it? Brown believes, My biggest role model is my grandmother. Because
shes a strong woman. This is certainly a blessing to both Brown and her grandmother.
When asked about her two personalities, both inside and outside of school, Brown said
the following, Inside school, Im goofy, weird and chill. Outside of school, Im laid
back and chill. Honestly, thats quite unique. Its rare to find a female like Brown in
this world nowadays, due to the fact of the world being corrupted from rap and want a
be thugs.
When asked where she sees herself 10 years from now, Brown responded, I plan to be
in college, grad school. I chose that because I want to be a midwife.

Brown was then asked what she sees as the best time of her year so far. This response
brought a tear to this journalists eye. She said, When my nephew was born.
Brown was asked about her dream job and responded, My dream job is to be a nurse.
She will do well, wherever life takes her.
