Inserting Ethos, Pathos, and Logos into your argument.

1) Consider your argument. W

hat is something you think you are right about? Choose
ANYTHING.

Response: Science is the best subject.

2) Ethos- What credible source (person or organization) has commented on this topic? Whether
they support your side or not, bring in a quote from one of these credible people and discuss
what they have said. These are best when the person you quote is recognizable.
Response- To raise new questions, new possibilities, to regard old
problems from a new angle, requires creative imagination and marks real advance in
science. (Albert Einstein)

3) Pathos- How can you connect to an emotional argument? Stalin once said that, Once death is
a tragedy, 1 million deaths is a statistic (see that ethos), so think of a story you can tell to
make the reader connect to that specific experience. Use imaginative and descriptive
language in your writing.
Response- Science has helped us progress in many aspects, including

technology. Weve had breakthroughs that have helped save millions of lives. Every
person affected by technology, could agree that science is the most pertinent subject
today.

4) Logos- Make your argument easy to understand. Provide statistics or charts that help the
reader understand why your argument is clearly better. Use simple language to explain the
facts.

Response- According to Prezi (Caleb Remocaldo) Science is the best

subject because it has pioneered modern day, creates millions of job opportunities,
and will pioneer the future of both humanity and all of earth. ( scroll down)
