A checklist to use when making your poster

Before you send your draft poster to an academic for feedback, please ensure you have followed the
guidelines in the advice sheet Top tips for conference posters and presentations. To help you we
have made a checklist.
Please make sure that you have:
Read the conference guidelines on producing a poster to make sure you are using the
correct headings, format (portrait vs. landscape) and size.
Avoided using long blocks of small print text
Included diagrams or pictures or an interesting background to make it
more eye catching
Included all the appropriate authors (including asking my supervisor to be an author)
Included a contact email for at least one author
Acknowledged you are a student at the Manchester Medical School
Used the University logo (top left corner of the poster) or the university poster template
Spell and grammar checked the text
Asked your Dean for permission to take the day of the conference off
your placement (by emailing my acceptance letter and abstract)
When you have ticked all of these boxes you can send your draft poster to the academic who sent
you this form for advice and printing (provided you have allowed enough time to do this act early!).
