IN a joint venture Asian Tennis Federation and All India Tennis


Association will host international tennis tourney Asian Tour from
November 17 to 19 at VIP Club (Shankar Nagar) here.
According to Chhattisgarh State Tennis Association President
Vikram Sissodiya to motivate state players for the international exposure the tourney has been organised in which top Asian players will
vie for coveted title. The prize money of the tournament is slated to
be 5000 US Dollars and 16 players through qualifying draw will enter
the main round. Qualifying rounds will be played on October 16 at
the same venue. Similarly, championship will be held at Bhilai Tennis
Complex after the tournament.

Development Minister Amar Agrawal
on Thursday chaired a meeting of officials from 44 urban local bodies (ULBs)
and reviewed their works. Among many
projects under the Swacch Bharat
Abhiyaan, Ministers prime focus was
on the revenue collection status of all
the ULBs.
In this state-level reviewer meeting,
officials were asked to prioritise the
property tax collection as per 50 percent hiked rate.
Later on in the meeting, he also scrutinized the open defecation free (ODF)
campaign. ODF is one of the top most

ODF by the end of year. He also asked
them to take the door-to-door garbage

ed over in the meeting was the regularization of illegal constructions and


the revenue generated as a result.
Minister directed officials to set up special camp to educate the people about
illegal constructions and legal ways to
regularize them.

RAIPUR Municipal Corporation (RMC)


on Thursday allotted the firecracker
shops for the Diwali at Netaji Subhash
Stadium. Allotment was conducted
through lottery method at RMC

head office. RMC officials informed


that permissions for as many as 153
shops are issued to the shopkeepers.
Allotment was carried out in the presence of Firecracker Businessmen
Association patron SMG Rizvi, president Raju Mahakalakar and Deputy
Commissioner Market RK Dongre in

general body meeting hall.


Notably, only the shopkeepers, who
have renewed their licenses, were considered for the allotment. Each shopkeeper paid Rs 5,290 as land fees and
Rs 630 as license fees. Total revenue generated from allotted was about Rs
90,5760.
