A. What went well last week


Alston / Nenthead

Samuel Kings

School Council meetings going well.


Further outside agency support with Eden Carers now in school.
Strong signs of reading and other homework being embedded at
both schools.
Thanks you to all staff for being so flexible while we have had a
number of people out on courses. Much appreciated.
Congratulations to the Nenthead team for winning the first North
Pennine sports competition.

The primary schools hockey tournament seemed to go very well.


The Year 11 students contributed responsibly. Thanks for HA for
getting this up and running. A big step forward.
Year 11 reading mentors up and running thanks to FB.
Year 9 families have been briefed on whats involved at GCSE.
Some came in for the meeting. Information sent home for
everyone else.
School Councillors did well on Eden FM.
Harvest produce now beginning to come in. Final collection due
in on Friday.

Tutor time is Numeracy activities this week
Harvest food collection will conclude on Friday! Please can all tutors bring their collection in to assembly
on Friday
Operation Christmas Child starts this week and continues after half term. Please can tutors remind
students on Friday
Fancy dress day on Friday to raise funds for the Prom Committee. Horror/Halloween themed non-uniform
day (1 donation) to coincide with visit from author John Connelly. Dean will be judging best outfit for the
Prom Committee and there will also be an art competition and horror cake as part of the days events
Please can all teachers continue to send me names of any detentions, behaviour or homework, so I can log
them ready to do the analysis over half term
Please can tutors closely monitor any students in their tutor group who are on report and sign their cards

This week Assessment Checkpoint is on Wednesday. Once you have the year 7 assessments complete
could you please pass onto me the Year 7 end of year target grades.
I will be completing the Year 11 profile over half term. Please email me if any Year 11 student is causing a
concern in your subject.
Reading lesson first lesson Friday. It went well again last week.
From IPJ:
Im on the Homework Trail again in my wanderings this week. Ive made it in to about half of the staff so
far and plan to complete the trawl before the end of term.
