Steps:
a. Presentation
1. Pupils are divided into four groups.
2. Each group is given a task to name the things they could find in the
sports room
3. They are required to use the circle map to list down their findings.
4. Pupils display their findings (gallery walk)
5. Teacher discusses the findings with the pupils.
6. Teacher lists down five common nouns and one adjective on the
board.
7. Teacher asks pupils to identify one word that does not belong to the
list.
8. Teacher highlights common nouns.
b. Practice

1. Teacher introduces the stimulus on different types of sports for the

SEA games. (Refer Appendix 1) long jump, high jump, javelin, shot
put, gymnastic, discus, hurdles
2. Each group is given a search word puzzle. (Refer Appendix 2)
3. They are required to circle the games found in the stimulus.
4. Peer checking of the answers.
c. Production
1. Each pupil is given a tasksheet containing an informal letter.
2. The pupils complete the letter with the appropriate common nouns.
